Energy use of waste
Lachman, Jakub ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the Waste-to-Energy topic. The first part evaluates municipal solid waste (MSW) as fuel, analyzes the influence of its indiviual fractions on the overal properties, mainly the lower heating value, compares MSW with other conventional solid fuels which are thermally used. The second part of the thesis deals with Waste-to-Energy technologies. It is divided into three parts: combustion, pyrolysis and gasification. Each contains both the description of the process itself as well as the description of the applied technology. The last chapter contains some of the negative impacts of Waste-to-Energy technologies and a list of measures used to deal with them.
Recovery of Energy from Municipal Wastes
Šíma, Kamil ; Bébar, Ladislav (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
The topic of the diplome thesis is draft of the waste-to-energy plant for municipal waste with cogeneration of heat. Basic specification of project: Waste-to-Energy plant is facilitated by two rotary kilns of type operating in parallel. Further flue gas leaving the post-combustor enters a multicyclone unit to separate substatial portion of fly-ash. Heat of flue gas at the temperature of 1000°C generates superheated steam in a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG). Dry sorption process is appllied for flue gas treatment. Specifically sodium bi-carbonate is used for it. Products of reactions and remnants of dust are separated by a baghouse. Superheated steam, generated by two HRSG, presents the inlet stream of a condensing steam turbine with steam extraction. The diploma thesis contains calculation of major devices and basic economical and financial statement of project.
Municipal Waste Production Analysis
Švarc, Vít ; Nevrlý, Vlastimír (referee) ; Kropáč, Jiří (advisor)
Thesis analyses the current state of waste management of Czech Republic and the issue of production of various kinds of waste. Real data about production and composition of waste flows of Jihlava have been used. In addition, thesis evaluates the impact of local conditions on production of isolated constituents of municipal waste within the town. Influences such as density of population, housing development or form of heating have been monitored. A method on the town level for estimation and evaluation of production of municipal waste is designed in the thesis. Tools such as descriptive statistics, correlative analysis or association rules are used.
Energy use of waste
Hrubý, Radomír ; Milčák, Pavel (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The content of this work is an evaluation of the Waste-to-Energy technology. The in-troduction describes current position of the Czech Republic on waste management. Including description of individual waste management technologies. The following chapter deals with the use of waste as a fuel for energy purposes. The principle of waste incineration and pyrolysis technology is elaborated here. Further, are discussed the methods of purification of individual components of flue gas. The penultimate chapter is devoted to legislation that affects the ecology of Waste-to-Energy technology and the comparison of emissions of various stationary sources of pollution which are producing energy. In conclusion, there are described facilities for the energy utilization of municipal waste in the Czech Republic, which are supplemented by two facilities from neighboring states.
Waste-to-Energy as a key technology of developed waste management systems
Guštara, Dominik ; Putna, Ondřej (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on analyzing the current state of European waste management systems and on prediction of its future development with focus on waste-to-energy technology. First part of this thesis serves as an introduction to the waste management issue and describes a computational tool NERUDA. Following is a description of data collection about the current state of waste management in the investigated countries. The final and most important part deals with the explanation of how the future development was estimated and with analyzing the results of optimization.
Estimation of municipal solid waste composition from the perspective of packaging
Doležalová, Adéla ; Putna, Ondřej (referee) ; Janošťák, František (advisor)
This master´s thesis focuses on prediction of presence of reusable material components in municipal waste with special focus on packaging materials. This prediction is based on analysis of financial costs of individual products according to the so-called market basket. Research of packaging´s life cycle and involving legislature is also a part of this thesis.
Potential of thermal utilization of waste in the Czech Republic
Studený, Vojtěch ; Baláš, Marek (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is discussing the potential of energy use of waste in the Czech republic. First part is describing the current ways of dealing with the waste. The thesis includes description of each procedure and its positive and negative aspects. The next part is dedicated to methods of technical use. Then there are described the basics of heating industry and effect thermal use on the environment. The last part is dealing with theoretical idea of energetic complex for energetic use of waste. The idea itself is based on calculations of the potential of energy in the waste.
Web application for planning waste fractions collection
Kubowský, Jiří ; Šeda, Miloš (referee) ; Dobrovský, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to develop a web application to support the planning of waste collection with an emphasis on a user-friendly interface and variability in terms of configurability of task boundary conditions. The development of the application builds on models and algorithms developed in the field of waste management. The application will be a tool for end users to work with these data, models, and algorithms. In the theoretical part, the issues of waste sorting and collection are presented. The practical part deals with the development of the web application from the basic concept, through the technologies used, to the details of the actual implementation.
Regression Analysis of Spatially and Time Distributed Data
Rosecký, Martin ; Hübnerová, Zuzana (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
This thesis summarizes findings about municipal solid waste (MSW) forecasting. Basic information about linear regression and correlation analysis were described. Analysis of influencing factors was realized on municipality with extended competence level. The resulting models explain up to 99 % of variability. Final models of MSW per capita explain between 12 and 75 % of variability. Variability explained by model of MSW per capita is lower by 20 % than comparable study which however uses data that are not usually available. Models can be used in waste management and their simplicity is benefit for real usage.
Production of material recoverable waste
Odstrčil, Marek ; Janošťák, František (referee) ; Kropáč, Jiří (advisor)
Main goal of this thesis is to understand current municipal waste treatment systém within Czech Republic waste management. Port of this thesis is also modleing of this systém for municipalities with extended competence and evaluation of individual outputs and their important parameters.
