The theme of my work is the last phase of collectivisation of rural Czechoslovakia in the late fifties of the 20th century. In this work I focus on the analysis of agricultural policy, the Communist Party in the period, particularly on the analysis of unpublished sources (The National Archives in Prague). Furthermore, I intend to address the role of new types of agricultural cooperatives to stabilize so-called socialist village and its agricultural production, and use the method to probe the example of agricultural cooperatives in Jindřichohradecko (State District Archives in Jindrichuv Hradec). The Czechoslovak collective farms in 1970s
Olič, Jan ; Szobi, Pavel (advisor) ; Chalupecký, Petr (referee)
In my thesis I am going to investigate the Czechoslovak agriculture in 1960s. I am going to specifically focus on collective farms. I will try to find out how the agriculture complex was productive and how organized it was. The system was already quite stable in this decade, but everything unreels from its beginning. I am coming out of the presumption, that the agricultural cooperative system was inspired by the soviet model. Therefore I'm going to focus on analysis of analogy between the progressions of collective farms, let us say kolkhozes, in Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. I'm going to examine, whether Czechoslovak government avoided the mistakes occurred during the violent collectivization of Soviet Union in 1930s or the history has repeated. Thesis should contribute to analysis of Czechoslovak history in mentioned period, to extending the knowledge about the form of Czechoslovak collective farms and to understanding the large differences in the efficiency of agriculture comparing to USSR. My thesis is going to be based on the published origins and on the latest scholarly literature.
