Optimized design of turbine engine intake
Kubo, Michal ; Matějů, Jiří (referee) ; Popela, Robert (advisor)
This master thesis deals with design of a subsonic intake which is used to supply small jet engine integrate into the fuselage of agile small unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Some kinds of these intakes are listed in order to inspire and introduce future designers into this part of jet plane design. This thesis contains a small amount of theory about compressible flow, and necessary knowledge which are important to know before the very first attempt to design an intake. Two models were designed in order to prove that the theory listed in this thesis is useful and can be used as a guide in design process of subsonic intakes. Both designs have the same layout. S-duct design with one intake placed on the belly of fuselage was chosen. After CFD analysis of first model it was found that there are huge area with separated flow and vortex. Separated flow leads to big total pressure loss and pressure distortion. While designing the second model the emphasis was to avoid this vortex and improve flow conditions. This optimization was success and the second design have smaller pressure loss in compare to the first design. The difference is more than 50% at fly speed M=0,8.
Design of outlet and intake objects of Nové Heřminovy dam
Neuvirt, Petr ; Švancara, Jiří (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
In this thesis was presented Nové Heřminovy dam with basic parameters. Requirements on bottom outlets and intake objects are presented as well. Analysis of used valves on all dams in Czech Republic was done as an underlay for suggestions of bottom outlets in this thesis. The main task was to suggest three variations of bottom outlets. Differences are in number of outlets, dimensions, placing and valves. Then variation of intake objects. Each of variation was verbally described and filled with calculations.
Safety submersion depth of small hydro-power plant Vydra 2 inlet
Jobánek, Stanislav ; Žoužela,, Michal (referee) ; Šulc, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals the measurement results on a physical model of the inlet part of the small hydro-power plant Vydra 2. The influence of the shape and location of the intake into the pressure pipe of small hydro-power plant Vydra 2 with respect to the water surface state was analysed. The work also deals with possibilities of using devices to eliminate the generation of vortex of higher intensities.
Modification of a motorcycle spark ignition engine
Poulíček, Matěj ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis is about possible modifications of four-stroke motorcycle petrol engines for increasing power. It also deals with the modification of the Aprilia Leonardo 250 engine from a 2-valve variant to a 4-valve variant, the simulation of this engine and the proposed solution in the GT SUITE. Attention is also paid to the strength control of the crank mechanism of the engine.
VD Vlachovice - concrete gravity dam
Juriga, Jan ; Šulc, Jan (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
As a part of this bachelor thesis an alternative design of the concrete gravity dam VD Vlachovice was made, to the already design of the earth-fill dam. The design of the outlet works, intake and spillway were also carried out as a part of the study. The introduction of the thesis includes a description of the site and an evaluation of local conditions. The next part deals with the stability of the dam and the load-bearing capacity of the subsoil. Furthermore, the design of the outlet works, intake and spillway were made. A part of the thesis also deals with the transformation of flood by the water reservoir. Finally, drawings and simplified 3D model of the dam were created. The documents necessary for the creation of the work were provided by company AQUATIS a.s. with the permission of Povodí Morava, s.p.
Modifying the Babetta engine
Poulíček, Matěj ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about one of the possible modifications of two-stroke single-cylinder Babetta 210 engine for increasing of power. Further about another manufactured Babetta engines with focus on their pros and cons. Attention is paid also to possible design changes for elimination of drawbacks.
Intercooler for the CDS SEMI-PRO combustion engine
Novozámský, Richard ; Bazala, Jiří (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
This diplom thesis describes design of new pressured air cooling system for trubocharged Diesel engine used in CDS Semi-Pro competitions. First part is focused on analysis external conditions influencing the desing. Second part pays attention to simulations of performance. Third part describes design of two systems and possible testitng method. In last part, the real parametrs are put into the computing model followed by verification of the results and evaulation of the designed systems.
