Optimization of Distributed Network Flow Collector
Wrona, Jan ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the optimization of distributed IP flow information collector. Nowadays, the centralized collector is a frequently used solution but is already reaching its performance limits in large scale and high-speed networks. The implementation of the distributed collector is in its early phase and it is necessary to look for solutions that will use it to its full potential. Therefore this thesis proposes a shared nothing architecture without a single point of failure. Using the above proposed architecture, the distributed collector is tolerant to the failure of at least one node. A distributed flow data analysis software, whose performance scales linearly with the number of nodes, is also part of this thesis.
Implementation of high-availability cluster
HEŘMAN, Zdeněk
This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the part of IT (information technology) field focusing on technical background and providing of services. It describes how to create high availability computer systems and how to protect them from unexpected failures. Many state and private companies know that the right implementation is very important for provisioning of IT services. The thesis compares the early investment cost against the gained benefits. The objective of this work is to describe in detail the process of creating and imple mentation of the HA cluster based on operating system Linux with Proxmox extension. The demands on hardware and software equipment are gradually presented here. The physical connections and configurations of individual parts of the system are analyzed to find the optimal design. Several options of virtualization platforms which are available on the market are listed here. Demands on the financial investment and consequent implementation of the HA cluster depend on the selected type of solution.
Available Solutions for Server Clustering
Bílek, Václav ; Čejka, Rudolf (referee) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (advisor)
The goal of this master thesis is to analyze Open Source resources for loadbalancing and high availability, with aim on areas of its typical usage. These areas are particularly solutions of network infrastructure (routers, loadbalancers), generally network and internet services and parallel filesystems. Next part of this thesis is analysis of design, implementation and plans of subsequent advancement of an fast growing Internet project. The effect of this growth is necessity of solving scalability on all levels. The last part is performance analysis of individual loadbalancing methods in the Linux Virtual Server project.
Virtualisation and Optimalisation of IT in a Production Company
Popelka, David ; Hégr, Robert (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
The master‘s thesis deals with the implementation of server virtualization in the Entity production, s.r.o., which is a small company by it’s size, but needs modern IT technologies for the normal operations. The thesis shows how to reuse the server virtualization technologies from large corporations, that have been unavailable to small business companies in past. It also design show to optimize the current IT environment.
High availability Microsoft Sql Server
Pyszko, Pavel ; Lattenberg, Ivo (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
The thesis contains a complete theoretical overview of high availability technologies in Microsoft SQL Server. For each technology, guidance is provided for the deployment of technologies. Technologies are analyzed from a security perspective, they are determined advantages and disadvantages of using technology in practice and is determined the optimal variant of use of the technology. High availability technology are compared with each other and is given the availability of individual technologies in versions of MS SQL Server. The thesis contains three scenarios with practical examples of using technology for high availability in practice. It provides an analysis of high-availability features in Oracle and are subsequently compared high availability features in Oracle environments with high availability technology in MS SQL Server.
QoS in a computer network of VŠE
Kalina, Tomáš ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Beneš, Jiří (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on analysis and deployment of Quality of Services (QoS) in a computer network of The University of Economics in Prague (VŠE). The thesis describes the main QoS technologies focusing on technology Diffserv and its deployment with using available network devices in computer network of VŠE. In thesis the needs of network services and protocols for quality of services with division into different classes of services according to priority are discussed. The thesis explains the benefits and drawbacks of deploying QoS in the environment of VŠE with regard to wired and wireless network. In the practical part recommendations are applied to the production network and subsequently the benefits of modification are evaluated.
High-availability solutions for network filesystems in Linux
Kravec, Martin ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Vadinský, Ondřej (referee)
The goal of this paper is to inform readers about high availability problematics and provide basic overview of free technologies you can use to achieve high availability. I focus mainly on solution of problems caused by hardware failures. Document can by used to gain basic knowledge needed for configuration of your own solution. In practical part I will try to realize high available cluster using free technologies and compare performance of different filesystems on this platform. Document will provide instructions for choosing and testing appropriate filesystem for specific configuration that can be used in production environment.
Redundancy in data networks
Šoun, Jan ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Beneš, Jiří (referee)
This thesis focuses on redundancy in data networks and on technologies which are used to achieve high availability in network infrastructure. This thesis is based on industry standards published by well-known standardization authorities. One proprietary technology which can effectively replace these standards and simplify the whole network is also presented in more detail. The theoretical part individually describes all such technologies and standards. The practical part deals with an appropriate combination of these technologies and their application in a specific product environment. This work is meant to describe the whole concept of high availability in network infrastructure and should be instrumental in understanding how these technologies are deployed in practice.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
GARABIK, Bohumil
The paper introduces Red Hat company and its products. Basic concepts, e. g. Linux, distributions, clusters, high availability and several other concepts on this issue are explained. The differences between commercial and non-commercial Linux distributions are described further. Empirical part of the paper deals with the installation, configuration and the use of several key products of Red Hat company. The comparison of certain products and their characteristics with competitive products is also included in the paper.
virtualization stations
Vlček, Michal ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Havlíček, Jan (referee)
This thesis aims to explain virtualization and its use for the implementation of virtual classrooms. Reader is gradually introduce, what is virtualization, how virtualization works, what has parts, what are the technologies used and how many is this virtualization. Reader is gradually acquaint with the concept of virtual classroom, how virtual classroom works and what are the solutions of virtual classrooms. Individual solutions of virtual classroom are explained and compared. At the end of this work is the selection of solutions virtual classrooms, and example of actual implementation of virtual classrooms, including the price of solution. The work has to show possible and effective solution of the virtual classrooms.
