GSM Based Remote Control and Monitoring
Vácha, Lukáš ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Váňa, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with a draft of a system working in the GSM Based Remote Control and Monitoring. Based on the draft a device of own design, controllable by SMS messages, is then built. The device can set its outputs, monitor inputs and inform the user about possible changes. It is possible for the user to control and monitor the device with the help of an application or SMS message from a mobile phone.
Design and Analysis of Systems for Advanced Guarding and Securing Objects and Areas
Komínek, Petr ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with design, realization and analysis of security and surveillance systems for buildings and spaces containing advanced components. One of the main design's parts is dedicated to intruder alarm system, access system, attendance and CCTV systems with the possibility of automatic motion tracking. Controlling and monitoring of particular subsystems is possible both locally and remotely from a computer via a web interface or by means of a software. The access to camera system from a mobile phone is also possible. IAS/ACS systems also enable controlling and transferring information about their state via SMS. The designed system was realized completely and its operating was demonstrated. The realization is described in detail including illustration of configuration of particular components. A security analysis and a possible future development of the project is summarized in the conclusion.
Smart Metering of Water Supply System at Campus of Faculty of Civil Engineering BUT
Černíková, Eva ; Ručka, Jan (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to perform an analysis of possibilities and benefits of installing the Smart Water Metering technology at campus of Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. The main goal was to provide specific solutions of Smart Metering systems from different companies. One part of this thesis is dedicated to a detailed analysis of a water consumption measurement campaign that took place at the beginning of this academic year using dataloggers. Real-time flow rate and consumed volume was recorded every five minutes. Therefore it was possible to determine water consumption patterns during the day and also tell the minimum, maximum and average flow rate in different parts of the campus. Thanks to these measurements, irregular water consumption during the night was observed. This would not have been easily detected without recording real-time data. This system of recording real-time flow rates with dataloggers is considered to be suitable for the needs of faculty. Thanks to a GSM module, recorded values are sent to an FTP server once a day. From there the data can be downloaded to any kind of analysis software. Installation of Smart Water Metering technology at campus of Faculty of Civil Engineering would be beneficial for both operation of the water supply network and also for purposes of an academic research.
Hive Scale
Hlaváč, Pavel ; Macháň, Ladislav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of an affordable hive scale which will be placed under the hive. The scale is expected to show the user all necessary information via the GSM mobile network. Incoming SMS message informs the user about the current weight and moisture. The information obtained can be displayed graphically in the application for android phones.
Local flood early warning system
Svoboda, Luděk ; Špaček, Jiří (referee) ; Růžek, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this Master's thesis is to design a local flood warning system. The system consists of two basic types of units. The first unit is placed in the field usingsensors and evaluates the presence of water in an otherwise dry area. In the event of flooding sends a warning message using wireless technology. The second unit evaluates the warning messages and informs the personabout the situation via text messaging. Outdoor equipment is fullyautonomous and permanently placed in an outdoor environment. The system is designed based 8-bit microcontrollers. The main parametersinclude low power devices, mechanical durability and reliability.
Patient data trasfer over GSM
Pavliš, Jaroslav ; Dlouhý, Jiří (referee) ; Švrček, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis is concerned with possibilities of patient data transfer from a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator to physician over GSM. Theoretical part describes options of data transfer in GSM networks, data appropriate for sending and a structure of message is proposed. A device, that is able to send medical data in a form of SMS messages is designed and constructed. The device uses a Freescale MC68HC908GP32 microcontroller, character display with a Hitachi HD44780 controller and a cell phone Sony CMD-J70. The program for microcontroller is written in assembler for HC08. For tabular view of received messages, an application software for PC was created.
10 port GSM relay switch with GUI
Bartulec, Tomasz ; Lattenberg, Ivo (referee) ; Janovič, Filip (advisor)
System hardware and software design for a GSM switch with ten switching outputs, controlled via SMS. Description of used GSM module and its properties, feasibility and requirements, design and description of supply circuits for module outputs to relay outputs decoding, plug-in realisation of outputs. GSM module application software creation, remote SMS control requests implementation, sender's phone number check and information about completed requests by call-backs. Adding AT command to set up device. Development of web server providing control of switch throught Internet browser, solving communication between server and device, and data management. Testing of created SW and evaluation of final design from aspects of usage.
