Economic and legal aspects of foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic Abstract The thesis deals with the issue of foreign direct investment and investment incentives in the Czech Republic from an economic and legal point of view. The thesis defines the term FDI in the legislative framework and analyses from the available literature its positive and negative impacts on the host country and economic growth. Within the work, the genesis and development of the key Act No. 72/2000 is analysed in detail. The work aims to confirm the impact of changes in investment incentives on the inflow of FDI in the Czech Republic in the last two decades. The institutional role of CzechInvest and the procedure for approving investment incentives is also part of this work. Based on several studies, the thesis presents a dissenting opinion on the impact of investment incentives on the inflow of new investments and the overall economic advantage of these subsidies. In terms of statistical data, the work analyses both data on investment incentives and the inflow of FDI into the Czech Republic, both from a territorial and sectoral point of view. Part of the work is also an overview of the main determinants defined by experts influencing the inflow of FDI into the host countries. The work analyses the current development of...

Depression in aging population: Social and economic determinants
Šafářová, Kristýna ; Votápková, Jana (advisor) ; Šlegerová, Lenka (referee)
Depression among aging population is a common phenomenon. This thesis studies potential socioeconomic and health-related factors as determinants of depression. We analyse a cross-sectional dataset of European residents aged 50+, provided by the SHARE project. Hypotheses regarding the factors are formulated based on existing literature. A logistic regression is applied and a number of robustness checks is carried out. A significant positive relationship is found between depression and factors associated with poor physical health and financial difficulties. The odds of depression incidence increase substantially for women both in the Czech Republic and Europe. Stratified analysis points that being employed reduces the chance of developing depression among the Europeans aged 50-64, while it increases the chance significantly for the Czechs aged 65+. 1
Přímé zahraniční investice v zemích Visegrádské skupiny
Paulík, Libor
This diploma thesis discusses the analysis of factors influencing foreign direct investment in Visegrad countries. The first part of the thesis defines the basic concepts, their brief characteristics and their distribution in the area of foreign direct investment. Another part of the thesis deals with the qualitative analysis of the investment environment in the Visegrad Group countries followed by a qualitative analysis of selected factors influencing foreign direct investment in Visegrad countries. The last part of this diploma thesis is a quantification of selected factors by multidimensional regression analysis and a regression analysis of panel data. The results obtained show that the main factors influencing foreign direct investment in the Czech Republic are the labor costs, the level of taxation and quality of the institutional environment. In Slovakia and Poland, the main factors are economic growth, the level of taxation and the quality of the institutional environment. In Hungary, the main determinants are economic growth, labor cost, the level of taxation and the quality of institutions. Within all Visegrad countries, the main factors are economic growth, labor cost, the level of taxation and the quality of the institutional environment.
Determinanty výnosov nemeckých dlhopisov
Jágriková, Veronika
Jágriková, V. Determinants of German bond yields. Diploma thesis, Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The master's thesis identifies the determinants of German bond yields during the financial and debt crisis. First part of the thesis focuses primarily on the financial and debt crisis and the resulting changes on the bond markets. The determinants influencing the bonds yields are examined subsequently. Second part of the thesis addresses testing of significance and influence of the determinants on German government bond yields. Empirical analysis has been conducted for bonds with different maturities in order to determine whether the impact intensity of individual determinants will change. Results of the conducted analysis are interpreted.
Vývoj kapitálové přiměřenosti a jejich determinantů ve vybraných bankách zemí Visegrádské čtyřky
Adamcová, Beáta
This diploma thesis examines the development of the capital adequacy ratio and its determinants during 2006 – 2016 in selected banks of the Visegrad Group. The included determinants are bank size, leverage, return on equity, LTD ratio and NPL. The regression analysis is used. The findings show a positive correlation between bank size and capital adequacy ratio, which are explained by the conservative nature of these banks. The results also confirm the negative impact of the leverage and the LTD ratio on capital adequacy in all Visegrad countries. The impact of return on equity and NPL is different for each country.

Wrzecionková, Aneta
Wrzecionková, A. Factors influencing household savings in the chosen countries of EU. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2019. This diploma thesis investigates factors influencing the saving rate in selected countries of the European Union, specifically in countries of the Czech Republic, France and Great Britain. This work deals not only with the identification of factors that may be common to each joint but also with the differences that contribute to differences in saving rates. This diploma thesis will focus more closely on the im-pact of population aging on savings as one of the determinants. By identifying de-terminants, it is then possible to analyse through regression analysis those factors that have a demonstrable effect on the savings rate in a particular country. This survey allows for a cross-country comparison where it is possible to compare indi-vidual factors between countries and to analyse possible matches and differences.

Demographic revolution in developing countries with a special regards to Africa and Zimbabwe
Muza, Collet ; Pavlík, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Fialová, Ludmila (referee) ; Pechholdová, Markéta (referee)
The demographic revolution in developing countries and Africa with special regards to Zimbabwe Abstract This dissertation aimed to examine the demographic revolution in developing countries, Africa and Zimbabwe. The decline of mortality and fertility everywhere in the world demonstrates the importance of the demographic revolution as a global process. While this universality was central to classic revolution theory, for many decades, it was questioned by demographers because fertility and mortality in Africa did not seem to follow the expected pathway. In sub-Saharan Africa the demographic revolution has been characterised by lagging, discontinuation and is occurring at a faster pace against low levels of socioeconomic development than observed in Europe, which has consequences for population dynamics. Questions have emerged if Africa is indeed different and a homogenous continent regarding demographic processes? However, empirical studies that have explored the unique demographic revolution starting from developing countries, Africa and Zimbabwe are lacking. The first part of the thesis on developing countries showed variations in the reaction of fertility to mortality decrease with historically small gaps and extended gaps in more recent revolutions, plus the much faster decrease in vital rates in many...
Use of articles and other determiners with possessives in Italian
GABRIŠKOVÁ, Denisa
The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to describe the usage of articles and other determinants by possessives. The thesis is divided into two two parts. The goal of the first theoretical part is to describe the theory of possessives with help of the bibliography, primarily their position in relation to articles and determinants. After that the theoretical part aims at the position of possessives in the sentence, their development in history and their comparison with other languages. In the second theoretical part the position of articles and determinants of possessives will be verified using InterCorp. Particularly this part focuses on family members and relatives, the core of this thesis, and the word order in sentences. Finally, all results will be found in a table.
