Czech -german relationships in Dacice region during the 1. part of 20. century

The aim of this work is to describe czech-german relationship in theneibourhood of the town Dačice with a view to villages Volfířov and Lipolec during the first part of twentieth century. These two villages were chosen for their different position after occupation of the borderland by Germany in 1938. Lipolec together with Slavonic's district were, after the event called Mnichov contract, taken by Germany but Volfířov wasn't. These villages, in spite of being distant just a few kilometres, passed through very different procession regarding of nationalities. Volfirov was always czech village and there did not exist not even a minority of Germans. On the contrary in Lipolec there was a majority of inhabitans of german's nationality, after 1918 with a minority of Czechs. Interesting point is the postwar situation in Lipolec where took place the wilde transfer of Germans. The subject of this work is to show czech-german relationship in the district and its changes in the named period and put them into the world context. The history of Cheb after the war: life stories alongside the great events

The goal of this MA thesis lies in mapping the history of the city Cheb after the second world war with the help of narratives and press of those times. Focus is on years 1945-1950 but the thesis also contains information about the city's history until 1945. Another aspect of this thesis is the variety of newspaper specific for this region and the way it changes through the years after war. The most important themes of this thesis include evicion of Germans, changing relationships whith the USA and the Soviet Union, ascent of kommunism and reastructuraion of Cheb - all of these in connection with the city itself and the memories of narrators. These themes are submited within the stories of individual narrators and spulemented by citations from newspaper.
Czech-German relationships in České Budějovice in 1914-1918 in light of german press in České Budějovice

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of two leading German-language newspaper based in the territory of České Budějovice in the period of the World War I, namely Budweiser Zeitung and Budweiser Zeitung Kreisblatt. The main objective of the thesis was to find out what the press paid attention to during the war period, how it was affected by this event and how it wrote about the relationship of two major cultures - if you like - about Czechs and Germans. For the thesis preparation printed matters stored in the State Regional Archives in České Budějovice have been used. The Bachelor thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter focuses on describing the situation in České Budějovice, its formation, referring to associations established in the territory within a specified period, including a clarification of the political situation. The second chapter deals with the selected German written press and the third chapter deals with the very newspaper production, whereas it is further divided into individual years and it separately describes the view of Budweiser Zeitung and the view of Budweiser Kreisblatt.

The Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany are countries that are very close to each other. Their cooperation is very important for both of them especially in the area of trade. The Czech-German Trade and Industrial Chamber is German foreign economic chamber, which supports mutual relationships of both economies. The goal of this thesis is to assess its activities and influence on Czech-German relationships and cooperation. This is done by comparison to other institutions that work in the same area and by experiences and opinions of the members of the chamber. The thesis also describes business relationships between the Czech Republic and Germany and identifies mutual culture standards.
Czechs and Germans in the Znojemsko Region during 1918-1946

The main purpose of the diploma thesis is to describe the development in the Czech-German relationships in Znojemsko region during the years 1918 {--} 1946. The inquiry is based on available archive sources and relevant literature. The diploma thesis is divided into four basic chapters. The first chapter summarizes the history of co-existence of both ethnics in the South Moravia until the foundation of Czechoslovakia in 1918. The following chapter is devoted to changes and development in relations among Czechs and Germans in Znojmo on the background of events which immediately followed after the World War I, whereas significant part is concerned with liberation of Znojmo in December 1918. The third chapter characterizes the Czech-German co-existence during the interwar period, especially in the context of taken elections. The last chapter describes demographical and national changes in the Znojemsko region during 1936 {--} 1946. The archive sources which are stored in the State Archive in Znojmo and the relevant literature are crucial for elaboration of the thesis. Visual materials are attached to the thesis; they serve as a complement to the text.
