Methods of Selection of Information System
Procházka, Filip ; Lorenc, Miroslav (advisor) ; Šlechta, Jan (referee)
The thesis focuses on a process of selection of information systems (applications) and methods of their selection. It explores common mistakes, which businesses and their managers make when they select an information system. Overall, the research is focused on small and medium-sized enterprises. The main terms, the steps of selection, the methods of multi-criteria decision analysis and the common mistakes of decision makers are analysed in the theoretical part. In the practical part, three methods of selection are used in a particular enterprise. Consequently, a suitable solution for the company was selected. A group of recommendations was constructed on the basis of the interviews with seven experts on information systems. These recommendations can be used in small and medium-sized enterprises as a prevention of common mistakes that could be made in the process of selection.

Potančok, Martin ; Voříšek, Jiří (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee) ; Šalamon, Tomáš (referee) ; Vejvodová, Jiřina (referee)
The dissertation thesis focuses on information systems and communication technologies and ways they are provided (sourced) in healthcare. The aim of this dissertation thesis is to design and verify a model of IS/ICT sourcing strategy for healthcare as a factor leading to the improvement of patient care, taking into account different categories of healthcare facilities and other specifics resulting from the application in medicine. The introductory section of the thesis (Section A) defines the areas of health care and identifies their specifics. Moreover, categories of healthcare facilities are defined and therapeutic, nursing and IS/ICT processes are identified. Sourcing is defined for the needs of the designed sourcing strategy model and the current trends are analysed as well as the offered outsourcing services. In the next section of the thesis (Section B), requirements on the IS/ICT sourcing strategy model are defined. Theories of sourcing strategies are analysed including assessment of the current practices of healthcare facilities. Identification of specific factors affecting sourcing in healthcare is an essential part of this section. The most important section of the thesis is a design of the IS/ICT sourcing strategy model and its verification in practice at a real healthcare facility, which is described in the final part (Section C). The designed model employs two layers to cover the whole spectrum of healthcare facilities. The base layer defines the types of objects used in developing the sourcing strategy. The specific layer takes into consideration the differences between the various categories of healthcare facilities and provides the actual implementation. Successful implementation of the model including its two layers was achieved in an independent outpatient healthcare facility.
Implemetation of online store
Jiřinec, Jan ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Formánek, Václav (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with an analysis and design of an implementation process of online store. It introduces the background to the model of Management of Business Informatics (MBI). The main compositions of the implementation are parts representing the phase of analysis, development, implementation and operating the electronic shopping. Each part consists of a definition of the basic terms, the crucial factors required for its successful running, recommendations for its real life utilization and key activities. The parts are interconnected with other objects of the business informatics governance (documents, roles, metrics, factors, methods).  The solution offers a complex insight into the issue of electronic shopping as a part of commercial activities and informatics of businesses.  This thesis also defines a scenario of electronic shopping implementation including specification of all main problems connected with such implementation and factors (in MBI context) that both positively and negatively influence the business electronic shopping set up and utilization.
The selection process of an information system
Krejsa, Jiří ; Lorenc, Miroslav (advisor) ; Havelka, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the selection process of the enterprise information system in the enterprise. The general investment process and vendor selection process are described in the theoretical part. This part also includes the analysis of the specifics and differences of the selection process of the information system and recommended methodology for public tender. The optimized selection process of enterprise information system is designed on the basis of specialized literature and found deficiencies. The applicability of the proposed process in practice is assessed through comparison with a case study of a successful selection of an information system in the final part of the thesis. The design can be considered usable in practice according to the described transformation of the tender in the case study to the proposed process. The application of the thesis outputs brings reduction of the required effort and increases the success rate of the selection process of the enterprise information system.
Management of business informatics in particular sport union
Jirovský, Jan ; Bruckner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Gavlas, Libor (referee)
This thesis deals with the area of management of business informatics at the Floorball Union. It is a very specific type of organization with a mixed organization structure and decision-making processes divided between elected bodies and the employee structure of the organiza-tion, where the area of business informatics is, due to the mission and goals of the organiza-tion, rather at the periphery of the interest of the management of this sports association. It is so despite the fact that the floorball union has developed and runs its own information system FIS. Based on the knowledge and experience acquired in the theoretical part, the thesis aims at assessing the current model of management of business informatics, defining its biggest shortcomings and proposing adjustments to this model. Within the assessment of the management model, the thesis further evaluates the benefits of the implementation of the infor-mation system FIS, with the aim of evidencing the rightness of the decision to develop and implement the system, both from the point of view of non-financial benefits, as well as financial impacts and possibilities of further development and growth of the organization. The theoretical part of the thesis contains a description of the structure, goals and mission of the sports association, and attention is then devoted to the selected models, frameworks and approaches to management of business informatics and measuring its benefits. The practical part is devoted to an analysis of the current state of management of business informatics, and it includes a description of all its resources and relations, as well as a definition of its biggest shortcomings. Based on the findings, I have proposed a centralization of the management model including proposals of specific measures that will eliminate the discovered shortcom-ings to maximum extent. Compared to standards, the model of management of business in-formatics has been in some areas adjusted according to the needs, requirements and characteristics of the organization for which it is being designed. Another significant part of the practical part of the thesis contains evidence regarding the benefits of the implementation of the information system FIS. It is this part in particular, along with the creation of a new model of company information system management for the Czech Floorball Union, that I consider the most significant contribution of my diploma thesis.
Management of IS/ICT costs in selected company
Gazda, Štefan ; Maryška, Miloš (advisor) ; Zámborský, Vincent (referee)

The purpose of this thesis is to create an IS/ICT cost model based on the principles of managerial method ABC (Activity Based Costing) for business informatics of selected company. The theoretical part is focused on costs in IS/ICT, their classification and management, with the analyze of the reasons for continuous growth of IS/ICT cost management. A significant part of this section is a characteristic of ABC method and a description of different phases in creation of ABC model. The practical part of the thesis presents a selected company, its business informatics and an organizational structure. Subsequently the current state of IS/ICT cost management is described and analyzed. Based on the analysis and with regard to objectives of the company in the future, a new IS/ICT cost allocation model is designed. For the purpose of calculating and determining of intradepartmental prices for ICT services, a process of allocating and calculating costs is simulated on the new designed model, with the use of current and historical data of the company. At the end of the practical part, the results achieved through the designed model and the results of the current method of allocation and calculation costs are compared.
