Preservation History of Art Nouveau Heritage in Hungary, Czech Lands and France Master Thesis Lilla Zámbó Abstract This master thesis discusses the preservation history of the most relevant architectural monuments of Art Nouveau from the perspective of different ideological and political systems of Hungary, the Czech Lands and France in the 20th century. The main objective of the thesis is to examine the influences of Art Nouveau in the society and vice versa through different heritage protection procedures and successful monument restorations, which took place in significant "Art Nouveau cities" of Europe: Budapest, Prague, Nancy and Strasbourg. The Art Nouveau style (1890-1914) was born as a reaction to the academic schools at the end of the nineteenth century and spread quickly by advertising a new architectural program, thanks to its special aesthetical, social and political contents. In order to satisfy the needs of the "modern" age and to create a better environment for the people, Art Nouveau broke with the previous dominant historical tendencies, not only in a mental way, but also in employing a new design and decorative elements. Title: Development ot the Status of Prague - Tourist Destination in the Central European Space Author: Veronika Dumbrovská Department: Social Geography and Regional Development Supervisor: RNDr. Dana Fialová, Ph.D. Abstract The objective of this thesis is to analyse the development of the status of Prague as a destination of city tourism in Central European since 1989. Prague, the Czech capital, is compared to other capitals in the region - Berlin, Vienna, Bratislava, Warsaw, and Budapest. The research is focused especially on a comparison between Prague on the one hand and Vienna and Budapest on the other in the period 2003-2011. For the research presented in the submitted thesis, secondary data from national statistical offices of the selected countries and specialized statistical databases were used. This quantitative research has been combined with qualitative studies. Since 1989, Prague has transformed from a destination of "former Eastern bloc" into a destination comparable with major cities of Western Europe. The development of tourism in Prague has been rapid and misbalanced. Tourism impact on Prague is higher than in other capitals of Central Europe, especially in its historical centre. V teoretické části práce analyzuje všeobecnou charakteristiku odvětví kongresového cestovního ruchu. Praktická část posléze definuje význam kongresového cestovního ruchu v České republice a v Maďarsku a dále analyzuje postavení Prahy a Budapešti jako destinací kongresového cestovního ruchu. Zejména se zabývá analýzou a pozdějším srovnáním vybavenosti, propagace, silných a slabých stránek a současné pozice a potenciálu obou destinací.
: Comparison of Public Transport in selected European cities, oriented towards exploitation of individual means of transport

The subject matter of the theoretical part is the description of city public transport and its history, priorities used in public transport, tariffs and spatial distribution as well as integrated transport systems and vehicles used in public transport. The aim of the practical part is to closely examine public transport systems of individual cities, confront it from several points of view taking into consideration the exploitation and distribution of lines for different means of transport (tram, bus, trolleybus, metro). The cities investigated are Prague, Amsterdam and Budapest.
