Nursing care for patients after amputation of the lower limbs in the home environment
RŮŽIČKOVÁ, Karolína
My bachelor thesis deals with nursing care in patients after amputation of lower limbs in the home environment. The main objective of the thesis was to describe the provided nursing care in patients after amputation of the lower limb in the home environment, to find out the cooperation of nurses and family members in these patients and how nurses evaluate self-sufficiency in patients after amputation of the lower limb in the home environment. In order to meet these goals, we have chosen the following research questions. What nursing care do nurses provide to patients after lower limb amputation in the home environment? How do nurses providing nursing care in a home environment to patients after lower limb amputation cooperate with their family members? How do nurses providing nursing care in the home environment evaluate patients after amputation of the lower limb their self-sufficiency? The research was carried out using qualitative research, specifically in the form of a semi-structured interview. The research sample was consisted of 10 respondents. The selected respondents were nurses from home care agencies of the South Bohemian Region, caring, among other things, for patients after amputation of the lower limb. Based on a research investigation, we found that nursing care provided in the home environment of an amputated patient is almost no different from nursing care provided in a hospital facility. Nurses focus on very similar activities such as wound dressings and stump bandaging. For some nurses working in home care, psychological support for the patient also played an important role in the provision of nursing care. The results also showed that cooperation between nurses and family members is largely effective. The family took care of its amputated family member primarily as part of personal hygiene and eating or provides daily assistance with walking and movement. Not only in the hospital, but also in the home environment, nurses evaluated the self-sufficiency of amputated patients. Thanks to the research investigation, we have revealed that some nurses evaluate self-sufficiency according to evaluation scales, for some the mobility of the amputated patient is essential or they take into account the general condition of the patient.
Patient's return to normal life after limb amputation
HRDONKOVÁ, Jana
The topic of this bachelor's thesis is the matter of the complex approach to patients who have had a limb amputated, which has a major impact on an individual's living standards. The excellent functionality of the entire team treating the individual is essential in this case, including the timing of follow-up care, so that the limb amputation patient's return to normal life is as easy as possible and the patient is not required to deal with obstacles that could complicate the process when he returns to his home environment. In the introductory chapters, the theoretical part of this paper discusses the history of limb amputation and gives a historic insight into prosthetic treatment compared to the current situation in the field of prosthetics. This is followed by a description of nursing care, with special focus on care of the stump, physiotherapy and, lastly, social support of individuals following limb amputation. Three objectives were determined - 1. To establish how informed limb amputee patients are before being discharged for subsequent care at home, 2. To establish how nurses are involved in the limb amputation patient's return to his home environment, 3. To establish how family members are involved in the process of preparing a patient for normal life before the individual is discharged from the medical facility. The semi-structured interview method was used to obtain answers to research questions for the purpose of achieving these objectives. Limb amputation patients who had returned to their normal lives made up one research sample and nurses from the surgical department made up the second research sample. The research survey revealed that there is a deficiency in the field of providing information to limb amputation patients in order to make their return to their normal lives easier. Patients left hospital with incomplete information about subsequent procedures that would make their return to their normal lives easier, for instance arrangement of compensation aids for patients, information about the possibility of being contacted by social workers and also contact information for services that could help them in this difficult situation. The bachelor's thesis research survey resulted in creation of an information brochure for limb amputation patients.
The level of public knowledge in giving first aid to the patients after traumatic ampuation.
HRDINOVÁ, Simona
The bachelor thesis on the topic "The level of public knowledge in giving first aid to the patients after traumatic ampuation." consists of two parts. The first part is theoretical, where the anatomy of the limbs, distribution and levels of amputations are described. Furthermore, first aid for the general public and first aid performed by paramedics are described. This part also includes the competencies of a paramedic. In this work, the issue of replantation and complications after amputation is also mentioned. The second part of the bachelor thesis is devoted to the practical part thanks to quantitative research using semi-structured anonymous questionnaires. The main goal of the research was to find out whether the general public has sufficient information about first aid after traumatic amputation. After evaluating the data, it was found that most respondents had about half of the questions correct. This bachelor's thesis can be beneficial for medical disciplines, but also for the general public who are interested in the issue.

Citová, Adéla ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: A Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Treatment of a Patient with Diagnosis of Left-Sided Above-Knee Amputation. Aim: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to summarize the theoretical knowledge and rehabilitation care of a patient with this diagnosis, as well as a case study of a patient with this diagnosis. Method: This study is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains the lower limb functional anatomy, theoretical information about lower limb ischemic disease, about amputations, rehabilitation options after amputation and options of prosthesis. It also includes an evaluation of the effects of therapeutic procedures. The practical part contains a case study of a patient after left-sided above-knee amputation. This part includes the entrance examination, the course of therapy, the final examination and the evaluation of the effect of therapy. Results: The therapy described in the practical part of this study was able to verticalize the pacient and manage to walk with prosthesis on a french crutches. Overall, the therapy has led to an improvement of patient's condition. Key words: Amputation, Lower limbs, Lower limb ischemic disease, Physiotherapy, Prosthetics

The effect of gait training with a prosthesis on stability and parameters in patients with thigh amputation
Tučková, Tereza ; Smékal, David (advisor) ; Kálal, Jan (referee)
Diploma thesis "Effect of gait school with prosthesis on stability and walking parameters of patients after transfemoral amputation deals with problems of patients after transfemoral amputation due to vascular etiology. It mentions elementary knowledge of rehabilitation after amputation of lower extremity. Furthermore, there are described main complications that amputation brings into the patient ́s life: pain associated with amputation, skin complications and psychological hardships. Emphasis is laid on gait and gait practice for patients with amputation. I further deal with deviations commonly observed on gait of these patients and with factors influencing the gait, including the influence of particular parts of the prosthesis on patients ́ gait. The practical part is dedicated to comparison of two different approaches to gait practice. The effect of these approaches is evaluated on the basis of results of two groups of patients. The results were gathered by examination on force plate, measurement of gait velocity, examination of gait cadence and evaluation of patients ́s gait videos. Furthermore, I use functional tests: LCI - 5, ABIS - R, ABC scale and PEQ. All of these examinations were performed at the beginning and in the end of patients ́ stay at the Clinic of rehabilitation in Hradec Králové. The...
