Zlín FCK Technology
Kučera, Petr ; Pecka, Lukáš (referee) ; Štěpán, Marek (advisor)
The diploma work deals with the design of a residential building in the town of Malenovice u Zlína, where a new residential complex is to be built on the site of the former Malenovice sawmill. The land is located in close proximity to the main road to Zlín. The work proposes a modular house system made of prefabricated CLT elements with social and community overlap. A system that allows rapid construction and creation of buildings with different configurations according to the given requirements not only in the territory of Malenovice. The design system includes small-scale flats with elements of variable furniture, which allows to reduce the cost of housing, which is responding to the current unaffordable housing, but maintaining human comfort. The design also addresses the efficient use of technology on site and its sometimes excessive use.
Slab-Column Connection of Cross-Laminated Timber for Punching: Comparison of Current Simplified Methods
Kázsmér, Michal
This publication compares simplified analytical methods for calculating punching shear resistance in the slab-column connection of cross-laminated timber (CLT). The work compares simplified models according to Mestek and Muster. The reference experiment was taken from Mestek’s dissertation thesis. By comparing these analytical models, it was demonstrated that none of the analytical models could accurately predict the failure of the specimen due to rolling shear, and lead to uneconomical design.
Development of a Hybrid Wall-Framed System
Javoríková, Miroslava ; Hronský, Michal
This paper explores the development of a novel wall-skeletal modular structure using Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT). Research by Design methodology was employed to examine the hybrid system's feasibility and sustainability. The study includes designing and testing a CLT pavilion, highlighting the system's potential in diverse architectural applications. Key findings involve structural load analysis software and the adaptability of this modular approach in various building types.
Experimental Verification of Ceiling Joint Performance in CLT-Steel Hybrid Structures
Freudenberger, Klara
In the research for sustainable hybrid structures, cross-laminated timber (CLT)-steel structures have gained widespread popularity and become a widely used engineered solution. This paper points out the unused potential of CLT-steel hybrid ceiling systems, focusing on creating the effect of a continuous deck. The study aims to create a connection capable of interconnecting panels through a hidden beam. The essence is to prevent the decks from rotating at the point of support, thus reducing overall slab deflection. Following the initial adjustment of the proportions of the connection, it is possible to state that the assumptions have been met. The results from the numerical analyses present two variants of the connection, which can be further subjected to experimental analyses.
Office building
Rousková, Radka ; Kalánek, Jiří (referee) ; Brzoň, Roman (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis is to design a low-energy office building in Lanškroun. There are three parts, documentation for building permission, a concept of HVAC documentation and multi-criteria assessment in SBToolCZ. The SBToolCZ evaluates of 39 standards, which are divided into four groups – environmental, social criteria, economics and management and location. The proposed building is two-storey, the ground floor is partly below ground level and is designed of reinforced concrete. The first floor is made of CLT panels. The building has a green roof. A green facade will be made on three sides of the ground floor. On the ground floor, there are reception, a meeting room, offices, a technical and storage facilities. On the first floor, there are offices with facilities for employees. Energy for heating and domestic hot water is provided by a condensing gas boiler. Ventilation in the building is provided by an air conditioning unit with heat recovery. There is an underground tank for collecting rainwater that is used for watering the garden and the green facade. The thesis is processed mainly in the software AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel and DEKSOFT.
Construction technology project of Yacht club in Hlučín
Labudek, Lukáš ; Čech, Václav (referee) ; Venkrbec, Václav (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is a construction technology project object Yacht Club Hlučín. The basis for the elaboration of this work is the diploma thesis from Ing.Radim Kučera - Yacht Club Hlučín. This thesis includes technical report construction technology project, coordinating the situation with the construction of wider relations of routes for transportation of main materials, time and financial plan of the construction according to the technical-economic indicators, drawing building equipment, scheduling, inspection and test plan, technological regulation for the implementation of the gross substructure, itemized budget and the plan for OSH implementation in Yacht club Hlučín.
Kindergarten in Horní Heršpice
Gryčová, Jana ; Jelínková, Barbora (referee) ; Ostrý, Milan (advisor)
The master´s thesis deals with the project documentation of the kindergarten in Horní Heršpice. The structure is designed as a detached building with one floor. The ground plan is in the shape of the letter „U“. The kindergarten has two compartments, each of which is intended for 20 children. There is also a kitchen and technical facilities in the building. Solid wood panels (type CLT) from the Novatop company were selected as the structural system. The building is based on foam glass, on which there is a reinforced concrete slab. One part of the building is topped by a flat „green roof“, and the second part with a slanted roof. Access to the building is from the north, where the parking is also situated.
Wooden family house on a slope
Svačinová, Martina ; Šuhajdová, Eva (referee) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with design of a wooden family house in the hillside. The house is a two-storey building with “L-shaped” floor plan, covered by the gabled roof. The house is designed for four-member family. The residential part is in the first floor. In the lower part, technical rooms are situated including a garage for two cars. Combination of two building systems was used in the design. The basement is built of concrete bricks by KB-BLOK. On top of lower part, a wooden structure is constructed, made of CLT panels produced by NOVATOP company. The advantage of this system is the construction speed. Resulting design is a modern building fitting in the neighbourhood.
Yacht Club Hlucin
Kučera, Radim ; Šuhajdová, Eva (referee) ; Šuhajda, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this study is the design of Yacht club. The building is situated on a building estate No. 1303/3 of the Kozmice land registry in the recreational premises at the lakefront of „Hlučínské jezero“. It is placed next to the flooding line which is also considered in the project. The building is divided into three operational parts – the hotel, the catering establishments (restaurant) and the area primarily destined for holding conferences and workshops. The hotel is designed to accommodate thirty-two people, the capacity of restaurant is forty-two and conferential area is suitable for forty people at the most. Yacht club is designed as four-storey building with a flat grassed-covered roof. With regard to the foundation conditions, the building is found on piles. The structural part of walls is partly from CLT panels and partly from reinforced concrete which increase the stiffness of the building. The external cladding of the hotel consists of wooden blocks creating ventilated facade, while the rest of the building is rendered.
Cathedral today
Král, David ; Mléčka, Jan (referee) ; Štěpán, Marek (advisor)
Theme of the thesis is a construction that is considered to be one of the most spectacular examples of a French gothic architecture. Notre-Dame Cathedral lies on the Eastern half of a Parisian island Île de la Cité on the river Seina. On April 15, 2019, roof of the cathedral caught on fire. It was completely destroyed, including its pinnacle. The thesis offers a solution how to restore the roof and what opportunities the new design brings. Aim of the proposal is enrichment of the Notre-Dame community through offering a new refuge, which will be for both, internal growth and spiritual practice itself. The design provides spaces that capture the path to God in them. I perceive the very path to God as a thorough inner work. That is why I am placing 36 contemplation booths in there, in addition to other 8 cabins. The light is removed from those, in order to extend the perception of consciousness. Spaces for individuals will be amended by 3 chapels for a group practice. Each chapel has its typical content - joint contemplation chapel, chapel that worships the Jesus Christ’s crown of thorns and a community chapel with a variable arrangement.
