Structure discontinuity in the RTX hexagonal materials
Rusňák, Martin ; Prchal, Jiří (advisor) ; Javorský, Pavel (referee)
As it was discovered earlier the crystal lattice of ternary hexagonal RTX compounds exhibits a criticality for specific values of the ratio of the lattice parameters c/a around the interval of 0.565 - 0.575. To explore this effect in more detail, we have prepared polycrystalline samples of Ce1-xYxPdAl and SmPdAl and monocrystalline SmPdAl, SmNiAl. In case of Ce1-xYxPdAl series the forbidden range of c/a values was found to evolve with composition and temperature. Structural transformation is temperature independent in these compounds. SmPdAl compound is single-phased in the whole temperature range even though the c/a ratio crosses the gap of forbidden values common for other compounds. However a criticality in evolution of c/a is present at temperature 500 K. Anomaly visible on magnetic and transport properties, which is connected with change of structure, was found at approximately the same temperature. Explanation based on enhanced thermal movement of the atoms is proposed. Besides, also magnetic measurements at low temperatures were performed. The magnetic ordering temperature Tc = 15.3 K and dominant antiferromagnetic order was found. Monocrystalline SmNiAl exhibits very similar behaviour to the SmPdAl.
Evaluation of Benefits of Tree Planting in Context of Urban Development
Pelčák, Svatopluk
With climate change and rising temperatures, but also with increasing demand for the comfort of individual citizens, the demand for the most pleasant environment in cities is also growing. One of the key elements for creating such an environment is the tree. Trees have several impacts on their surroundings, both positive and negative impacts, which mainly complicate the construction of technical infrastructure and require care to thrive in an unnatural urban environment and thus serve their surroundings. This research is focused on defining their positive impacts, but mainly on their evaluation so that their benefits can be compared with the monetary value of investment costs, but also to compare with other monetarily defined variants. Goal of the research is to use this values for complex evaluation of its benefits for society.
Text Recognition Enhanced by Writer Identity
Trněný, Matěj ; Kišš, Martin (referee) ; Kohút, Jan (advisor)
The objective of this theses was to implement a neural network for text recognition enhanced by writers identity. Adversarial learning method was selected for this purpose. Usefulness of this method was verified by experiments. This net should yield better results on data which are not similar to data contained in training data set. Accuracy of the resulting net was compared to method single-task learning and method multi-task learning. Net implementing single-task learning method has reached average character recognition error of 7, 995%, net implementing multi-task learning method has reached average error of 7, 565% and net implementing adversarial learning method has reached average error of 7, 573%. In comparison to the net implementing single-task learning multi-task learning has improvement of 5, 38% and adversarial learning has reached improvement of 5, 28%.
Aspirin in the secondary prevention of ischemic stroke
Adámek, Tomáš ; Alušík, Štefan (advisor) ; Kalvach, Pavel (referee) ; Souček, Miroslav (referee)
Introduction: The recurrence of the cerebral ischemic stroke after a history of TIA or ischemic stroke is 3-4% per year. One way of reducing the risk of reccurence is using antiplatelet therapy. The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of aspirin. Even though, newer antiplatelet drugs were developed, their risk/benefit profile has not been proved to be better than aspirin. Reasons for using aspirin in secondary prevention are: the longest experience, clearly proven effect in many studies and low price. On the other hand, aspirin prevents only 25% of strokes, thus there is wide space for searching for causes of failed therapy and alternative therapeutic ways. Noncompliance of aspirin use and embolic events are usually indicated as the most common causes of an ineffective therapy. The goal of our study was to find the antiplatelet therapy effectivity in patients with history of stroke treated with aspirin in daily dose of 100mg. We assured 100% compliance among these patients and as much as possible minimalized a likelihood of embolic causes of strokes. What is more, we tried to find out whether an insuffient suppression of 11-dehydrotromboxane B2 correlates with comorbidities, other used medication or laboratory parameters. Furthermore, whether by administrating an increased dose of...
The correlation between football teams' market value and their achieved result in chosen european leagues
Podlipný, Jakub ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Ruda, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Dependence of football clubs' market value on their result in selected European competitions Objectives: The main objective is to determine the strength of the relationship between the market value of football clubs and their result in selected European competitions. Another objective is to compare these relationships between individual leagues or groups of leagues (big, medium, small). Methods: Correlation and regression analysis were used for the calculation of the strength of the relationships. Regression analysis showed which of the teams influenced the strength of the relationship with their weaker or stronger performance. Effectivity was also calculated for another option of comparing the teams. Results: As the results show we can observe a certain dependency of the result of the clubs on their market value. In the leagues with weakest relationships (0,562 and 0,565) we can notice a particular influence of uncommon performances by the leaders and underdogs. In other leagues the relationship varies between 0,651 and 0,877, which shows very strong relationship between the market value and achieved result. Effectivity-wise it was observed, that the most effective teams are usually the ones with lower market values and they usually place in the lower half of the table. Whereas the least...
Parameter Identification Of The Two-Mass Mechanical Flexible System Using Welch Method
Bartík, Ondřej
This paper is focused on the parameter identification of the Two-Mass mechanical flexible system for motor drive applications. The whole methodology is based on the amplitude frequency characteristics given by Welch spectrum analysis method. The iterative algorithm is used to reconstruct the bi-quadratic flexible member of the transfer function. Then, the mechanical parameters are obtained with the transfer function parameters equivalence. Finally, the experimental results and theoretical estimates are compared and discussed.
Media representation of the United Kingdom Independence Party in selected British media before EU referendum
Rukavička, Tomáš ; Šafařík, Petr (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is analyzing media representation of the United Kigdom Independent Party in selected printed british media from the beginning of the year 2016 until the date of the United Kigdom European membership referendum, which happened on Thursday 23 June, 2016 and became known as brexit. The paper is examining how many times were the selected topics used with connection to the Party, as well as the culmination of these topics in individual months and the media representations created by the medias, based on these articles. Through the short history of the Party this work contains explanation of all the concepts, which are connected with the analysis. That one is done based on the two chosen themes, populism and euroscepticism. These topics were searched in the printed weekday newspapers The Sun, Daily Mail and The Daily Mirror. These tabloids were selected based on the newspaers circulation in the selected period and also their political inclination. The paper analyzes all the articles from the period, which contain any mantion about the party, speifically UKIP, or United Kongdom Independence Party, which was 565 articles. The research was done using the the content analysis methodology, which aim was to see what was the ratio of the populism and the eurosceptism topics in the articles...
Status and Importance of Local Taxes
BULÍČKOVÁ, Renata
The diploma thesis on the Status and Importance of Local Taxes is focused on a part of tax revenues of municipalities, which are called local taxes according to the budget structure. These revenues are the returns of the municipalities and are of an optional nature. Despite their nature, Act No. 565/1990 Coll., On Local Taxes, limits the tax jurisdiction for setting the charging rate. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the local taxes of a selected region of the Czech Republic on the basis of theoretical knowledge and legislation related to local taxes. For this work, the Vysočina Region was selected. At the beginning, development of taxes in the Czech Republic in 2006 2016 is described. Subsequently, the work goes to the development of Vysočina Region, where local taxes are broken down by particular types. The next chapters are devoted to local charges according to their division in the budget structure in terms of their share on revenues in municipalities in 2016 and the frequency of utilization of the respective taxes in the same year. Based on the calculations, it was found out that the average share of revenues from local taxes on tax revenues in 2006-2011 was around 1.80 %. By introducing a local tax for municipal waste, the share increased and was around 3 % in 2012-2016. This difference was due to the fact that the tax for municipal waste is the major part of the revenue from local taxes, approximately 88 %. The analysis also shows that the most common tax is the one for owning dogs. However, its share on total revenues of local taxes accounted for only 4.3 %. A smaller share (3.78 %) is recorded only by the revenue from the tax for use of the public area, the other taxes got minor contribution.
Prevalence of overweight and obesity among secondary school students in České Budějovice
HRŮŠOVÁ, Nikola
The thesis is focused on the prevalence of overweight secondary school students' and obesity in České Budějovice. The text contains a brief description of the characteristic of obesity and methods for its prevention, influencing factors, consequences and options for a cure. The main part of the thesis summarises data based on the anthropometric measuring of first and second year high-school students from four local high-schools, which contained their age, height and weight at birth, current height and weight, and hip and waist circumferences. The exact BMI (body mass index) was calculated through anthropometric measuring. Afterwards,BMI results were compared with percentile BMI charts, in each case done separately for boys and girls. This research took place between January and mid-March 2016.
Territorial study as the basis for urban planning of selected locality
MIKULOVÁ, Eva
Landscape is everything that surrounds us, the space in which we live and which we create. In recent years there have been increasingly frequent discussions about sustainable development that naturally concerns also landscape, aiming to ensure that it can withstand our management and last also for future generations. For this reason, land use planning and everything related to it is very important. This component of our activity is very comprehensive and complex and at the same time absolutely essential for our future. The aim of land use planning is to create prerequisites for construction and sustainable development whilst maintaining and developing natural, cultural and civilisation values. In pursuing this activity, land use planning is assisted by several instruments. Among other things, these instruments include zoning studies, which may serve as a basis for elaborating zoning documentation. Their purpose is to verify the possibility and conditions for changes in a territory and they strive to find its bottlenecks, examine and assess them and propose potential solutions. This shall also be the aim of this thesis dedicated to the Hoštice cadastral area in Šumava including its division into conservation areas and areas without special protection and a proposal of a potential solution.
