Využití embryotransferu v chovu holštýnského skotu
Musilová, Ivana
This bachelor’s thesis gives an overview and basic information about the method of transferring embryos in cows, basic procedures needed for its realization, physiological processes related to reproduction, and other methods used when working with embryos. It describes the embryo transfer from the farmer’s point of view (such as choosing and preparing the donor cow, collection of embryos and manipulation with them) but also from the animal’s perspective (ovarian and sexual cycle, impregnation, and embryo development). In the practical part, there is an evaluation of data gained over the years 2019 to 2021 from a dairy farm Agras Bohdalov a.s. During the evaluated period there were approximately 57 embryo flushings per year, 442 embryos were collected and 263 of them were suitable for transfer. About 59.3 % of this amount was transferred immediately and the rest was frozen. In total, 268 calves were born from fresh embryos and 67.54 % of them were heifers. There were 179 donor cows chosen and flushed over the three monitored years and 45 % of them were heifers. The most frequently used bulls were Twitch (used 13 times total) and Nighthawk (10 times).

Title: Comparison of body composition and physical level of students of the Military Branch at FTVS UK at the beginning and at the end of their studies. Objective: To evaluate the results from the measurements of the members of the VO FTVS UK at CASRI, what changes occurred in terms of their physical performance and body composition in the beginning and in the end of their studies. Method: Paired t-test was used to analyze the data of members of the VO FTVS UK who successfully completed full-time undergraduate and graduate studies. These were data from 8 males (age 24,3±1,5; weight in kg 79,3±6,1; height in cm 179,5±5,8) and 1 female (age 24; weight in kg 66,9; height in cm 171) from measurements at CASRI, which tested physical level on a stepwise test (on a treadmill) and body composition on the TANITA MC-780. Results: Paired t-test analysis of the data confirmed a statistically significant difference in muscle mass gain (mean difference=3,14 kg; p=0,0007) at the end of the study. On the other hand, during the stepwise test, there was no statistically significant difference in final heart rate (mean difference=0,58; p=0,9394) or lactate levels (mean difference=0,66; p=0,1639). Based on this measurement, it can be concluded that there was no statistically significant deterioration in physical level...

Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biological and Medical Sciences Student: Nikola Melicharová Supervisor of master thesis: PharmDr. Miroslav Kovařík, Ph.D. Title of master thesis: Evaluation of muscle strength and endurance of lactating women This work aims to evaluate the change in the parameters of muscle strength and endurance of the upper and lower limbs in women during breastfeeding. Compare these measured values between the right and left limbs. Another goal is to test the connection between dynamometric parameters and the intake of micronutrients in food supplements. 10 lactating women aged 29-39 took part in the measurement. The women were examined four times. The first examination L1 took place on average 29 ± 5 days postpartum, the second L2 93 ± 29, the third L3 179 ± 15, and the last measurement was L4 274 ± 3 days postpartum. A digital pinch/grip analyzer and digital myometer were used to measure muscle strength and endurance of the upper and lower limbs. We used the BCM - Body Composition Monitor device to measure fat-free mass. Weight was measured for women using a body analysis scale from Tanita. When evaluating the measured results, we discovered a statistically significant difference between the values of the maximum strength of the left hand...
Experience of health care managers with motivation, team leadership and build-up of the professional competence of their employees
MAREČKOVÁ, Tereza
Current state: The motivation of nursing staff is an integral part of the activities of nurse managers. Most of the time, work in the healthcare sector is very mentally and physically demanding for all medical staff, and especially for nursing staff, who are in closest contact with patients. Nurse managers should therefore be aware of the importance of staff motivation. All health workers have the obligation of lifelong learning, and therefore the head nurses should pay attention to the educational activities of the staff. The objective of the qualitative research was to describe the work motivation of nurses, in particular, the experience nurse managers have with team building activities and to map their role in the field of increasing the professional competence of their employees. The aim of the quantitative part of the study was to evaluate nurse satisfaction with the motivational program of the organization in which they work. Another goal was to find out if nurses are interested in team building activities. The final goal of the quantitative research was to evaluate nurse satisfaction with the employer's offer of lifelong learning. Methodology: A mixed qualitative and quantitative design was chosen for the research. The data collection for the qualitative research was carried out through semi-structured interviews with first and middle line nurse managers. The data intended for the quantitative research study were obtained using the technique of a non-standardized self-constructed questionnaire intended for shift nurses. The research group of the qualitative part of the research survey was made up of 11 head nurses, and the research group of the quantitative part of the research survey was made up of 179 shift nurses. The research took place in two hospitals of the faculty and regional type in the period July-September 2022. Results: Nurse managers considered employee motivation to be an important and integral part of their work. Adequate financial remuneration of nurses was stated by the majority of nurse managers as the strongest motivating factor. Four fifths of the interviewed nurses were satisfied with their salary (81%). More than four-fifths of nurses were satisfied with the hospital incentive program (82.7%), and nurse satisfaction with the incentive program did not vary statistically significantly with their age (p=0.724). The head nurses had no experience with team building activities. More than a third of nurses (40.8%) were interested in participating in team building activities. Nurse willingness to participate in team building activities decreased with age (p <0.030). The head nurses stated that they try to motivate and support the nurses for further education. Among the obstacles preventing further education of nurses, they included fatigue associated with a lack of staff, as well as lack of time and lack of interest of nurses in further education. More than three quarters of nurses (76%) were satisfied with the offer of lifelong learning offered by the employer. Nurse satisfaction with the employer's offer of lifelong learning increased significantly with the applicability of newly acquired knowledge in clinical practice (p <0.001). Conclusion: The level of relationships at the workplace is related to the satisfaction and motivation of the staff, and the associated effective communication in the team. Nurse managers should therefore pay attention to the development of positive relationships at the workplace and the cooperation of individual team members. One of the possibilities of working with teams can be, for example, team building. If we want educated nursing staff in hospitals who are continuously educated, it is necessary for them to be supported in further education by senior staff and the organization.

Využití hořčíku u nosnic
Jandová, Eliška
This thesis deals with determination of the magnesium and iron retention in organism. In experiment there were used laying hen of carrier type of hybrids Bovans Brown from the age of fourteen months. Chicken were fed ad libitum with feed mixture with the indicator of chromium oxide the entire duration of the whole experiment. From the beginning of the clutch eggs were removed to specify the strenght of eggshells. The balance digestibility of magnesium was found out in three-day periods. Feed consumption was found out by indi-cator method. An average balance digestibility of magnesium in feed mixture was 55, 1 %. Maximum, about 58%, was reached between 40 – 60 days after laying of the first egg. The course of retention of magnesium from 43rd day before laying of the first egg to 73rd day after laying of the first egg is possible to express by polynomial second degree equation Y= -0,0009x2 + 0,1316x + 54,12; R2 = 0,6414. Daily retention of magnesium that was 127 mg before beginning of the clutch was increased with proceeding clutch and egg weight. During the clutch there were retained 179 – 196 mg of magnesium in the layer´s body. Average content of magnesium in eggshells was 3,771 ± 0,2131 g/kg. For the whole reten-tion period average feed consumption was 120,13 g. In evaluation of quality of eggs from the age of 17. to 29. weeks all values were identical with a technological manual of given hybrid.
