Porovnání učenlivosti u koní
PEJCHOVÁ, Lea
The aim of this work was to compare the ability of horses to learn depending on their age, sex and breed. The ability to learn was tested on three different tasks: crossing a piece of canvas, passing through a narrow space and raking with one front leg on command. Further, horse´s memory, i.e. the ability to remember the three tasks and repeat them after a two-month pause was tested. The results show that horses are considerably teachable. The main factor affecting their learning ability was the age, since there were found differences among horses of different age groups. It was demonstrated that four horses from the group aged 1-4 years learned the tasks easier than the other ten horses older than 4 years. The breed proved to be also a significant factor which affects horse´s learning. The task based on passing through unknown space was learned faster by horses of cold-blooded breeds than warm-blooded breeds, e.g. a representative of Slovak warm-blooded didn´t learn this task at all. On the other hand, the task based on an immediate reaction to a trainer´s command was adopted faster by horses of warm-blooded breed. As the least important factor was evaluated the horse´s sex. It was found out that geldings needed a little less number of attempts for passing all tasks but the difference was insignificant. It was confirmed that horse´s memory is on a high level. Horses remember the learned tasks very well, even after a two-month pause. The results of horse´s memory tests according to their age, breed and sex are almost the same as the results of learning ability tests.

The impetus for the topic was our Bachelor´s thesis in which we have already dealt with gender problematic but from a different perspective. Now we have decided to focus on education and describe gender load of teaching. The main aim of the thesis is to determine whether the approach of chosen male and female teachers in educating at the second grade of primary schools is gender-correct. A partial aim is to bring the topic of gender problematic as such to the readers who are not familiar with that. The theoretical part begins with defining key terms which must be known to understand gender in general. The following chapter deals with the specific gender manifestation in the school environment such as, pedagogical communication between a male/ a female student and a male/ a female teacher, the problematic of school evaluation, gender (in)correctness of textbooks and we also focus on gender (im)balance of teaching staff. In the practical part using the method of observation we examine male and female teachers of two chosen primary schools; namely the gender sensitivity of their pedagogical approach. In the conclusion of the thesis we make a selection of gender-correct textbooks and teaching materials which can serve as a utility for beginning teachers men and women.

Pippalová, Veronika ; Bartošová, Jitka (advisor) ; Bína, Vladislav (referee)
Master thesis is the assessment of the income situation of men and women in the Czech Republic or other European Union countries, according to various socio-economic, demographic and regional factors. Income of persons is influenced by many factors. There are some of them analysed in distribution according to gender, with a focus to find differences and compliance. The effort to detect influential factors on total income is a part of this thesis. The theoretical and methodological section describes the current situation of this issue not only in the Czech Republic, together with a reflection on the causes of differences in income and the precaution taken mainly in the Czech Republic. In the practical part there are tested two hypotheses related with income disparities and gender (sex). Central values of incomes were processed broken down by gender and selected factors. Also absolute and relative frequencies in data were analysed and were created two models which examine the dependence of income on selected factors. Incomes in selected countries were compared as supplement. Results are achieved by statistical methods. Output of this work is to assess the income gap between men and women based on available data and to verify hypotheses.

Gender stereotypes in social work
KLEČKOVÁ, Petra
The given Bachelor´s Thesis describes gender issues in social work areas, despecially with regard to the gender stereotypes of female social workers and a male social worker in České Budějovice working with a target group consisting of male and female seniors. The main objective of the thesis is to find out about their awareness of gender and gender stereotypes occurring in social work areas and to characterise the influence of gender stereotypes during the execution of their duties. The theoretical part includes an introduction explaining the gender issues and general terms related to the given topic including the development of the gender issue within a social and historical context and its interconnection with the present form of social work in the Czech Republic. A definition of the given context represents the basis for the second part of the thesis dealing with research. Its contents describe the elaboration, analysis and assessment of the executed semi-structured interviews and observations. The author focused on four thematic areas related to the issue of gender stereotypes in terms of accomplished qualitative research, which were later compared to the given observation. The results show a remarkable difference in the perception of gender stereotypes by a male social worker and female social workers while dealing with male and female clients and the author of this thesis. Research also demonstrates that the gender issue and gender stereotypes assessment in social work with seniors is rather difficult due to different education, as well as different cultural and social periods. The results in the given thesis might be useful for both professionals and the public in order to realize and understand gender and gender stereotypes in social work areas and not only while working with male and female seniors. The acquired data may be used for further research and removal of gender stereotypes in social work areas.
Gender and primary school girls
HRONKOVÁ, Martina
The thesis deals with gender issues. It is divided into two parts, theoretical ? based on literature review and practical ? based on research. The theoretical part deals with the concept of gender as a social construct. It is focused on manifestation of gender stereotypes in various aspects of girl?s and woman?s life. The first chapter defines the most important terms (gender, sex, socialization, identity) and is followed by a chapter dealing with gender stereotypes related to female and male social constructs (of femininity and masculinity). The next part describes manifestation of gender roles, (differences and behaviour) in family. The following chapter shows the picture of woman which is presented in the media (magazines for women, advertisement, publications for children). The last chapter describes manifestation of gender roles in school environment. The practical part presents results of the quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research is based on questionnaire investigation. The qualitative research was conducted through controlled interviews. Both types of research were focused on gender problems ? whether the girls participating in the research realize the effects of gender roles and how they perceive them. The result of this research is that girls are aware of pressure based on gender differences. They realize the conflict between their wishes and reality, but they fully respect the traditional gender division of the worl into the male and female world and they lead their lives in accordance with the traditional gender stereotypes.

Frolo, Radovan ; Hubinková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Pauknerová, Daniela (referee)
The aim of the graduation thesis is to describe the stereotypical perception of men and women in today's society. The thesis links this perception to their signification, while working as reporters for private and public broadcasters. This thesis is focusing on the students of various universities and their subjective point of view when it comes to the parity of both sexes. These students were also asked to compare equality of genders in the public sphere as well as in their private lives, and to describe their attitude towards the media in general. Graduation thesis points out the existence of gender stereotypes, even in the field of news that is spread by the television. This graduation thesis consists of four main chapters. The first chapter includes basic expressions and definitions connected with the key terms gender and identity. The second chapter talks about women's identity nowadays and it's development in the past. The third chapter is comparable to the second one, since it talks about men's identity. The very last part of the thesis is strictly practical and it consists of three separate parts. The first part is the analysis of the situation in four specific televisions. The second part includes the preparation and analysis of in-depth interviews with the respondents and the third part contains a practical suggestion in the form of an annotation. This annotation can be used as a guideline for a new school subject taught at universities.
