Conflict management and productivity in banking sector
Sekpodorme, Sylvester Gameli
The purpose of this study was to investigate conflict management and productivi-ty in the Ghanaian banking industry using GCB bank branch of Medina as a case study. Three key objectives were set to achieve this; firstly, identify the problems GCB bank encounters when conflict arises. Secondly, to evaluate the strategies used in managing conflicts; thirdly, to examine the effects of conflicts on produc-tivity of GCB bank. A case study research design was adopted with a sample of 27 employees where questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument. Find-ings show that, ineffective communication, decreased motivation and job dissatis-faction arises when conflict occur among employees. It was further found the bank has effectively managed work place conflict using compromising strategy and accommodating strategy. Further evidence show that workplace conflict sig-nificantly affects the productivity level of the Bank. More so, it was stablished that highly experienced employees have significant effect on productivity which sug-gest that highly experienced employees are more productive. Considering the enormous impact conflict has on productivity, it is recommended that manage-ment of the bank should organize training for the entire workforce on conflict management to enhance their skills on complicit management.
Úroveň konkurenceschopnosti české rostlinné produkce ve Visegrádské čtyřce
Javorská, Marie
Javorska, M. The level of competitiveness of Czech crop production in the Visegrad Four. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2022. The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of competitiveness of the Czech Re-public in crop production. Competitiveness is compared with the Visegrad Four countries. The basic indicators are labor productivity, yield per hectare and trade balance. Part of the work is also a description of current Czech crop production and calculation of self-sufficiency on selected commodities.
Vliv odborových organizací na výkonnost firem
Indrová, Martina
Diploma thesis deals with the relationship between trade unions and wage-setting, productivity, and mainly profitability. This work aims to verify the impact of the trade union on profitability in Europe. The first part consists of literature research, which summarizes the major union´s features and their impact on firm performance. Using statistical program Gretl, in the empirical part two panel data analyses examine whether trade unions affect the firm profitability. Required union variables and macroeconomics indicators are obtained from a sample of up to 25 European countries and almost 47 000 manufacturing firms from Europe. As the most suitable model for analyses is selected a fixed-effect model. Based on the empirical results, the evidence points to a negative effect of unionization on profits, both in the non-financial sectors of European countries and in manufacturing firms in Europe
Úroveň konkurencieschopnosti slovenských podnikov živočišnej výroby v rámci V4
Mináriková, Dominika
The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze competitiveness of enterprises with animal production in the countries of the Visegrad Group. Part of the work also characterizes Slovak agriculture as a whole. Selected indicators characterize and identify development tendencies and position of Slovak animal production. Work analyzes productivity and efficiency according to the specialized livestock enterprises in the period 2015 - 2019. There is evaluated the level of development of agriculture in the V4 countries on the basis of the the so-called Hellwig model. The data are drawn mainly from the Eurostat and FADN EU databases.
Rozdíly v produktivitě sektorů ve státech EU
Michálek, Lukáš
Michálek, Lukáš. The differences in productivity in EU states. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2020. In this Bachelor thesis is examined the division of EU countries depending on productivity in market economy sectors by cluster analysis, applying data form EU KLEMS database. The literature overview describes productivity, factors that af-fect productivity and opportunities to increase productivity. The thesis shows that the division is possible. As optimal seems the division into five clusters, which is stable in short term view. The abstract is in (British) English.
The heterogeneous consequences of reduced labor costs on firm productivity
Del Prato, F. ; Zacchia, Paolo
We document how a reduction in labor costs led to heterogeneous effects on the total factor productivity (TFP) of manufacturing firms. Leveraging an Italian labor legislation reform and unique institutional features of the local collective bargaining system, we show that such effects vary along the TFP distribution. Relative to the counterfactual, TFP markedly declines on the left tail, which we explain via selection mechanisms, on the right, TFP mildly increases as firms are able to expand and reallocate their workforce. To guide the evaluation of welfare implications, we develop a general equilibrium model featuring firm selection and frictions in input markets.
Improving the production process after implementation new technology
Drápelová, Markéta ; Bartošek, Vladimír (referee) ; Juřica, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the improvement of the production process after the introduction of a new technology so that the improvement would be carried out by the appropriate design after the analysis of the actual state of the selected process. The work is done for the company NOMINAL CZ OBCHODNÍ, s. r. o., which is engaged in the production of healthy food. The first part of the thesis defines the theoretical bases that were key to the creation of the analytical part. It is more closely devoted to the identification and specification of problems, which are then solved in the design part, which recommends the company to take certain measures. These measures are then evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively.
Internal View of the Home Office: a Study of the Current Situation in a Specific Company.
Halchuk, Iryna ; Bayerova, Kristína (referee) ; Pfeifer, Marcel Rolf (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of working from home in a specific company and is aimed to identify the main problems that arise during its course. The theoretical part provides the necessary theoretical knowledge concerning the topic. The practical part describes the analysis of the current situation in the company and of the identified problem, which consists in the reduced productivity of employees working from home. In the proposal part are suggested measures for improving the efficiency of working from home.
Development of hybrid technology for the production of polymer latice structures
Florián, Vojtěch ; Maňas, Pavel (referee) ; Škaroupka, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development of a hybrid technology for the production of polymeric rod structures from PLA filament. The main objective of this technology is to increase the printing productivity by forming some of the rods in BCCXYZ structure without melting them completely. The first step was to conduct basic research on polymer forming. This involved a series of tests, including FEM simulations, printing of individual strut members, and analysis of morphology using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). The results confirmed the feasibility of polymer forming, which led to further development of hybrid printing technology for BCCXYZ structures. The fabricated structures were subjected to compression loading tests and compared with the results of other printing technologies, including their production costs. In this way, the advantages of the hybrid filament rod structure printing technology were identified. To demonstrate the technology, a mould simulating a fibreglass part was created. This research contributes to the advancement of polymer structure printing and has the potential to improve the efficiency and economic viability of the process in industrial applications.
Communication and corporate culture in construction engineering
Macinková, Martina ; Molnár, Josef (referee) ; Linkeschová, Dana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on communication and corporate culture in the construction engineering, with an emphasis on importance and improvement. The thesis aims to capture the importance of this topic in the context of the construction engineering. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the issue of communication and culture in the construction industry is examined in detail to provide a comprehensive overview. The practical part presents the results of the research conducted, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data was obtained through questionnaire surveys and guided interviews with employees of selected construction companies. The paper concludes with a summary of partial conclusions and formulates recommendations for improving communication and corporate culture in construction companies. This work included a proposal for a more effective survey methodology and tips for making the industry more attractive to young people.
