Tester for lithium cells
Buček, Vojtěch ; Tomíček, Pavel (referee) ; Dvorský, Adam (advisor)
The thesis deals with testing the state of lithium batteries, their aging, and verifying manufacturer-specified parameters. Based on commercial solutions for lithium battery testers, a custom circuit is designed and fabricated to verify the parameters of the measured batteries. The design includes necessary modules, components, and a description of the issues related to measuring lithium cells. The proposed tester allows for transferring measured data to a computer for subsequent processing and interpretation. Current necessary information is displayed in real-time on the screen. By comparing with a laboratory tester, the accuracy of the custom device is determined.
Study of Electrode Materials for Sodium-ion Batteries
Jilčík, Jan ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of electrochemical cells, more precisely sodiumion batteries. Part of the work is the introduction and comparison of lithium-ion battery technology with the new sodium-ion battery technology. Sodium-ion batteries represent one of the new and very promising types of batteries that belong to the so-called post lithium system group. As part of the bachelor thesis, the issue of negative (anode) materials for sodium-ion batteries is described and discussed in detail. The work mentions silicon as a promising electrode material for the negative electrode of sodium-ion batteries. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis is focused on doping the anode of a sodium-ion battery with silicon and its electrochemical properties are investigated.
Electrode Materials for Sodium-ion Batteries Based on Carbon
Homolka, Tomáš ; Binar, Tomáš (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on electrode materials for sodium batteries with a particular emphasis on anodes, especially hard carbon. The history of sodium-ion batteries and their operating principle are discussed as well. The project also describes the history of lithium ion batteries, as they share a significant part of their development and operating principle with sodium-ion batteries. In the practical part, measurements of rate capability, capacity and coulombic efficiency of the selected hard carbon are then performed. The sodation method is also tested and the effect of moisture on its properties is further investigated.
Study of Electrode Materials for Sodium-ion Batteries
Varmužová, Zdeňka ; Binar, Tomáš (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
The content of this thesis is an introduction and presentation to the issue of sodium-ion batteries and a description of production of the own electrode material and its subsequent electrochemical characterization. It deals with the historical development of electrochemical sources of electrical energy from the first batteries to the current types. Study then discusses lithium-ion type batteries, which are closely related to the development of the studied sodium-ion batteries. From the point of view of sodium-ion batteries, the thesis focuses on their electrode materials, especially on anode materials based on sodium titanates. The thesis describes a synthesis of a sodium titanate and production of a negative electrode for sodium-ion battery application and construction of a test cell. The thesis then proposes and evaluates measurements verifying the properties of prepared sample of sodium titanate.
Workplace for measuring capacity and rate-capability characteristics of lithium-ion batteries
Cápal, David ; Máca, Josef (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the issues of lithium-ion batteries, describing common types of commercial lithium-ion batteries, their advantages, disadvantages, and characteristic properties. The thesis focuses in more detail on the influence of temperature on the characteristics of lithium-ion battery. The thesis describes the design and construction of a workplace for measuring capacity and rate-capability characteristics of lithium-ion batteries at low and high temperatures. The thesis also describes the implementation of a cooling and heating module using a system based on Peltier devices.
The effect of optical fiber attenuation on the capacity of optical traces
Žák, Ondřej ; Škorpil, Vladislav (referee) ; Reichert, Pavel (advisor)
The essence of this thesis is the creation of complex insight on optic fibre attenuation. There is successive steps explained mechanism of optical attenuation and characterized its spectral dependence. We are describing primary elements of optical attenuation, its sorts and their own spectral dependence. Bachelor´s thesis is explaining requirements of transmission system to spectral characteristic optic fibre and influence of optic fibre attenuation on capacity of optical trace. Output of bachelor´s thesis is program solution of designed mathematical model for calcula-tion spectral dependence of optical attenuation. Program is realized in MATLAB and there is furthermore added version in Microsoft Office 1997-2003. Created program is able to ap-proximate points data obtained from measurement of optic fibre by using Lagrange interpola-tion polynomial and Rayleigh scatter interlay.
Methods of steganography
Obdržálková, Karolína ; Blažek, Petr (referee) ; Člupek, Vlastimil (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with steganography, its types and methods. Steganography is generally described in this work. A significant part of this thesis is devoted to the development of steganography and also describes how is steganography used for malware and copyright protection. The next part describes the types of steganography according to the type of carrier, their methods and properties of steganographic methods. Based on theoretical knowledge, an application with a graphical user interface was created to hide and reveal secret information using steganographic method LSB. This application is described in the final part together with the evaluation of security of hidden information.

Tram Network for New Brno City Masterplan
Grishchuk, Dmitrii ; Seitl, Jan (referee) ; Všetečka, Martin (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the planning of routes and their operating parameters for the tram network in the new Brno city masterplan. The work evaluates operational and capital expenses that are bound up with running and further expanding of the tram system. The numbers of inhabitants and jobs included in 300-meter zones around tram stops were assessed. The calculated values are compared with the current situation. Based on the results, a suitable composition of the vehicle fleet and the order in which new tracks should be constructed is recommended. Further measures are proposed to improve coverage of city territories by the tram system, especially construction of tram ways to other densely populated areas of Brno and the organization of selected transfer points
