Visiting field service - part of nursing practice in a general practitioner's clinic
SŮVOVÁ, Nikola
This bachelor thesis deals with the visiting field service as part of the work of a nurse in an adult general practitioner's office. The visiting field service is relevant for elderly patients, patients with chronic diseases, disabled patients or patients in recovery. It carries with it a host of benefits, keeping the family together, keeping the patient in a home-like environment, providing infusion therapy, and performing wound dressings. The visiting field service provided by a nurse from an adult general practitioner's office is quicker than home care, the nurse communicates directly with the physician who assigns the appointments. The aim of this thesis is to determine the awareness of patients from adult general practitioners' offices of the possibility of using a visiting field service by a nurse in the home setting. And to find out the benefits of a visiting nurse outreach service and the perceptions of patients from adult general practitioners' offices. In this bachelor thesis, quantitative research is used, interview method is used and self-administered questionnaire is used as a technique. The research findings show that there is little awareness of the visiting outreach service. However, patients who have used the visiting field service evaluate it positively and perceive it as beneficial to their health condition. The practical output of this thesis is an information leaflet to raise patient awareness of the outreach service and to encourage patients to enquire about the service with their general practitioner.
Patient awareness before coronarography
KVAČKOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor's thesis dealt with informing patients before coronary angiography. Cardiovascular diseases are one of the major problems of today's population. An examination method called coronary angiography is used to quickly and effectively evaluate the condition of the coronary arteries. It is an invasive method thanks to which we can image the coronary arteries of the heart and find places that are narrowed or closed. The thesis was focused on informing patients who were to undergo this procedure. The aim of this bachelor's thesis was to map the awareness of patients before coronary angiography. To find out how the information was conveyed and what effect it had on the patient's sense of security. In the theoretical part, there is an overview of the obtained information about coronary angiography examination. Coronary artery disease is discussed here, followed by a chapter on coronary angiography itself and nursing care. The last two chapters of the thesis deal with education from the nurse's point of view and patient awareness with subsequent informed consent. The research of my bachelor's thesis was processed using a qualitative method with semi-structured interview. The interview consisted of twenty questions. The research sample consisted of patients who were admitted for coronary angiography. The data that was obtained was further processed using coding and the "pencil and paper" method. The resulting investigation revealed that patients are sufficiently informed about coronary angiography. The delivery of information by the doctor or nurse to the patients was effective. Patients were well informed about coronary angiography and their sense of security increased.
Adherence to medical regimens by hypertensive patients
KUBÁTOVÁ, Veronika
Introduction: The bachelor thesis deals with an adherence of regime measures by patients with hypertension. Hypertension is one of the most common diseases of the cardiovascular system. Regime measures are the basis of treatment, which include weight loss, regular exercise, limiting salt in the diet, quitting smoking, abstinence from alcohol and reducing stress. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out whether patients over the age of 50 with hypertension are informed about the regime measures and whether they comply them. Methodology: A quantitative method was chosen for the research part of the thesis. The data was collected by using a self-constructed questionnaire that included 25 questions. The research group consisted of patients older than 50 years suffering from hypertension who were hospitalized in a medical facility in the South Bohemian Region. Results: It was found out that respondents' knowledge of lifestyle measures related to the treatment of hypertension differs statistically significantly by gender (p = 2%), but does not differ by age (p = 72%). The data shows that women have more knowledge than men. Compliance of regime measures also differs statistically significantly by gender (p = 1.8%), but does not vary by age (30.5%). Women follow the measures more consistently than men. Respondents aged between 61 and 70 showed the best results, both in knowledge and compliance, but the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Although the results have provided a fairly satisfactory picture of patients' knowledge, it is still important that people with hypertension are regularly educated. The thesis can serve as a source of information for both laymen and paramedics. An educational leaflet has been created for hypertensive patients with basic information that every hypertensive patient should know.
