Canistherapy in Kindergarten

This thesis focuses on the question of inclusion of canistherapy activities for healthy children into the program of kindergardens. The aim of the theoretical par was to describe the specifics of the development of pre-school age on different levels, characterise of the basic terms from the field of canistherapy and note the general rules ensuring the safety and hygienic environment. The research took place focusing on two different age groups. The research shows differences in the levels of knowledge, reactions to a live animal and the development of relationships. Different reactions and experiences further show the need of inclusion of all specifics of different ages when planing the therapeutical activities. During the research there were identified the benefits of canistherapy within the development of children in line with the aims and outcomes of the educational program for pre-school education. To carry out the experiment, the methods of observation, interviews and active research were applied.The verification took place through the realisation of prepared canistherapy activities with the following evaluation of goals and achieved competencies. The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of canistherapy. The theoretical part defines the concept of canistherapy, the subject of its research, target groups and users of this treatment. The thesis defines the aims, forms and methods, as well as its risks. It briefly describes the abilities, skills and suitability of the canistherapy dog and deals with the prevention of its abuse. The practical part also advocates a survey. The main aim was to find out what kind of relationship the dog and its owner, as handler, have with each other. It also looks at which dogs are suitable for canistherapy and their mental and physical health. Last but not least, what effect the contact with the dog has on the client and what are the possibilities to prevent abuse of the therapy dog.

Dog-assisted education for preschool children

Canistherapy has a wide range of applications and is used in social, health care and educational sectors. We can say with certainty that the concept of canistherapy is known to the general public, but the understanding of more specific approach of AAI is unfortunately distorted. The aim of the bachelor's thesis focuses on the methods of applying the AAE to children of preschool age and what impact has the presence of a dog as a part of education of children in preschool. As part of the research methods, qualitative research methods were used, specifically participant observation, semi-structured interview, secondary data analysis and photo documentation. The results of this thesis confirm that canistherapy, specifically the AAE method, is very widely used in practice, but its correct recognition does not occur. Many preschools are very interested in canistherapy, but unfortunately as a one-time experience to secure diversification of the educational process, although its use in the field of therapy has huge possibilities. The result of research shows a large deficit in the awareness amongst preschool teaching staff. Based on the results of the research investigation, a methodological practise for one-time and regular canistherapy was proposed with a focus on the AAE method, and at the same time an information leaflet was compiled, intended specifically for preschool teachers.

Zootherapy as an activating activity in retirement home

The work deals with the effect zootherapy has on the needs of seniors in retirement home. The theoretical part characterizes the concepts of old age and aging, and also deals with the periodization of old age. It also describes humas needs. The main part od the work is devoted to the theme of zootherapy. This section defines its main forms used in homes for the elderly - cenistherapy, felinetherapy and ornithotherapy.

The use of canis therapy in work with the team of children in kindergarden

In graduation thesis I am focusing on supporting relations in the group of kindergarten children and eliminating fear of animal through canistherapy. The main aim is to create methodological complex tending to fill set goals during the work with the group. The partial goal of the graduation thesis is a practical realization created complexes and their reflection. A qualitative strategy was used to reach the purpose. The work contens two parts. The theoretical part describe the method of preschool education, children adaptation to kindergarten and here is defined the koncept of canisterapy. The practical part, complexes are detailed and reflected. The output of graduation thesis is a methodological complex involves six units, which could use therapists in direct work with children of preschool age.

Canistherapy in a Retirement Home

Canistherapy is an activity in which a dog has a positive effect on a person. It is a relatively new form of activation in retirement homes providing these people with many experiences that lead to the enrichment of their days. This bachelor thesis is focused on canistherapy in a retirement home. The goal of the thesis was to evaluate the benefit of canistherapy as a method in a retirement home. The thesis consists of two parts, a theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part I describe zootherapy. It also characterizes canistherapy, its forms, methods, the goal of canistherapy tests, contraindications of canistherapy and further it includes canistherapy in seniors. Positioning is not neglected and in the last part there is the activation of seniors, which is an integral part of working with seniors in residential facilities. The practical part consists of qualitative research. The method of semi-structured interview consisted of 9 questions was used to obtain data. The research group consisted of 6 communication partners from two retirement homes, who regularly participated in canistherapy for at least one year. The obtained data are evaluated by the method of open coding with subsequent categorization. The results of the research have shown that canistherapy is a beneficial method in all areas of the client's life, where I included the physical, social, and emotional aspect. The greatest benefit has been found on the emotional components of personality. I believe that this thesis can serve as an information material for future social workers or even for future canistherapists who would like to deal with this method in the future.

Use of methods of animotheraphy in the care of children with physical and multiple disabilities.

Bachelor thesis deals with the Use of methods of animotheraphy in the care of children with physical and multiple disabilities. In this work I describe animotherapy and thein course in the care of children with physical, mental and combined disabilities. In the first part of the bachelor thesis I deal with the definition of animotherapy, the definitions of separate types of animotherapy, such as canistherapy, hippotherapy, felinetherapy, apotherapy, ornithotherapy, doplhintherapy, caviotherapy, lamatherapy, small animal therapy, livestock therapy and exotic animal therapy. Furthermore, in the first part I deal with the definition of individual disabilities. The second part of the bachelor thesis includes qualitative research, in which information was obtained through interview with canisterapeuts. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out chat are the posibilities for the use of selected therapies in coordinated care in selected facilities.

The use of canistherapy for Children with Multiple disabilities in Schools and School Institutions

The aim of this thesis is to carry out a qualitative analysis of selected schools and school institutions that use canistherapy in the educational process of pupils with multiple disabilities at České Budějovice and surroudings of this city. Another aim of this thesis is to describe benefits of canistherapy from the pedagogical staff¨s point of wiew, A partial aim of the bachelor´s thesis will be to describe organization that is selected in most cases and the first meeting of pedagogical staff and canisteraphy.
