Second SIM Slot as a Secure Element
Oškera, Jan ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Hanáček, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with design and implementation use of dual slot in GSM phone like security element. For this purpose, you need to create a SAM that supports GSM functionality. Or use existing SAM that support this functionality, such cards are called SIM/USIM.
Radio Watchdog
Matuška, Jan ; Heriban, Pavel (referee) ; Krček, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with a design and implementation monitoring system of Starhill society computer network. Part of the design is development and realization hardware modules that provide restarting of remote network devices. Command transmission is realized through discretionary transceivers available, whose regulations can make such transmissions possible. A usage of 466~MHz frequency band is the main assumption. Both concept and implementation are described in the thesis. The designed system is integrated to the existing IS of the association.
Jaroslavice – place in the landscape
Dočekalová, Veronika ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Ponešová, Barbora (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design improvements to increase the quality of the living in the territory of Jaroslavice and its surroundings. This South Moravian rural area located near the Austria–Czech Republic border may currently be considered as a No man's land. Given the subject of the thesis, the author suggests the conceptual solution of this problem. Focusing on the life in a border region analyses offer of the local development, amenities and opportunities, not forgetting about the education. The work suggests an entirely new local education system from the very beginning - from kindergartens to secondary education. The missing high school forces students to travel or to move to nearby towns such as Znojmo. what usually leads to their breakaway from the local environment. This could be avoided by building a new secondary school in Jaroslavice. It would link to the rich history of this village from the pre-war period, when it was considered an important transition point between the cities of Brno and Vienna. Besides, Czech-German school can re-establish mutual cooperation between both countries. Designated school is based on a current education needs, e.g. practical training experiences in local businesses, which is costs saving and immediately applicable. The subject of this thesis is placed into the area of the ruined mansion under the local castle. Besides school, there is also Food Center and Research Institute. All three institutions cooperate together, similarly to the concept of manor court (meierhof) in the past. Educational facilities are arranged in U-shape form with the inner courtyard and the large greenhouse on one side. Each wing of the building is self-sufficient and has a different character. The west wing is two-storey, on the ground floor there is a library with classrooms for social sciences and the heart of the house - room for theatre and performances. On the second floor there is a school headquarters facing the courtyard with the ability to check the daily routine. The central wing with entrance consists of classrooms of natural sciences and another social science classrooms located towards the courtyard for eventual outdoor lessons. Last part consists of computer classrooms made for the technical sciences. This wing leads to the lower floor with side entrance to a parking lot. Greenhouse, designed for both the public and the students, is an inseparable part of the school.
Molecular mechanisms of genome integrity maintenance under conditions of replication stress
Boleslavská, Barbora ; Dobrovolná, Jana (advisor) ; Hanzlíková, Hana (referee) ; Šebesta, Marek (referee)
Precise and timely duplication of chromosomal DNA is an essential process for all dividing cells. Failure to complete this process can lead to cell death or irreversible changes in genetic information ultimately leading to cell transformation and cancer. The sophisticated multiprotein complex ensuring DNA replication is often slowed down or stalled by numerous obstacles, including DNA lesions and secondary DNA structures, but also by another vitally important cellular process - by ongoing DNA transcription. Head-on transcription-replication collisions (TRCs) associated with the formation of R-loop structures are the major endogenous source of genomic instability. R-loops are three-stranded nucleic acid structures composed of an RNA:DNA hybrid and displaced DNA strand, with a strong potential to halt replication fork progression and to have a genotoxic effect. To ensure complete DNA replication, the eukaryotic cells have developed various mechanisms for removal and overcoming the obstacles to replication fork progression. However, despite the extensive research, the molecular mechanisms underlying the restart of R-loop-stalled replication forks remain unclear. Here, we provide evidence that in human cells the restart of DNA synthesis at the sites of TRCs is a multi-step process involving fork...
Transparent Restarts of Stateless Linux Services
Šraier, Václav ; Koutný, Michal (advisor) ; Horký, Vojtěch (referee)
Services running on servers have to be updated once in a while with security patches and new features. Full-service restarts provide a simple way to update the running code, but they usually lead to costly downtime. That can, however, be avoided by preserving network connections and internal state across restarts. There is currently no general way how to do that easily. We introduce an easy-to-use library for Linux which handles transparent restarts for stateless services with minimal code requirements. We demonstrate that support from the system's service manager can significantly improve correctness. We provide an implementation of such integration into systemd, popular Linux service manager and init system. 1

Role of human RECQ5 helicase in the resolution of conflicts between transcription and replication complexes
Fryzelková, Jana ; Dobrovolná, Jana (advisor) ; Vopálenský, Václav (referee)
The progression of replication forks can be slowed down or paused by various external and internal factors during DNA replication. This phenomenon is referred to as replication stress and substantially contributes to genomic instability that is a hallmark of cancer. Transcription complex belongs to the internal replication-interfering factors and represents a barrier for progression of the replication complex. The replication forks are slowed down or paused while passing through the transcriptionally active regions of the genome that can lead to subsequent collapse of stalled forks and formation of DNA double-strand breaks, especially under conditions of increased replication stress. DNA helicase RECQ5 is significantly involved in maintenance of genomic stability during replication stress, but the mechanisms of its action are not clear. In this diploma theses, we have shown that RECQ5 helicase, in collaboration with BRCA1 protein, participates in the resolution of collisions between replication and transcription complexes. BRCA1 protein is a key factor in the homologous recombination process, which is essential for the restart of stalled replication forks. Furthermore, we have shown that RECQ5 helicase is involved in ubiquitination of PCNA protein at stalled replication forks. Key words DNA...
Survey of the methods of costing of hospitalization
Matějovicová, Ivana ; Šiška, Ladislav (advisor) ; Matyáš, Ondřej (referee)
The thesis, Survey of the methods of costing of hospitalization, deals with the characteristics of the classification system DRG used for costing of hospitalization. The first half of the theoretical part of this work describes the Czech health care in general and specific ways of financing it. We focus on the costs related to the emergency care in hospitals which are classified by the DRG system. The second half of the theoretical part studies the actual principles of costing of hospitalization. The method chosen for this is called Activity Based Costing (ABC). It defines the procedures of costing which are being used in hospitals. At the end, we provide a description of the current and suggested procedures of costing of hospitalization and how they are utilized to set up parameters of the reimbursing mechanism. The practical part of this thesis maps the situation of hospitalization financing in Klatovska nemocnice, a. s. We suggest a new way of financing based on the methodology DRG Restart. Base on the data obtained in Klatovska nemocnice, a. s. we summarize and compare the results of the new method to the current one.
