Guidelines for creating bibliographic records of broadside prints with Ignis 2 online tool
Bydžovská, Iva ; Měřička, Matěj ; Klacek, Michal
The guidelines for creating bibliographic records of broadside ballads or chapbook prints in the online tool Ignis 2 were created to enable enriched functionality of the internet library of broadside ballads Špalíček (www.spalicek.net). The guidelines are based on international XML format for the description of text documents Text Encoding Initiative (TEI P5) and describe the creation of bibliographic records of broadside ballads and chapbook prints. They replace older guidelines for already outdated program Ignis - XML Record Editor, clarifies and expands description of the prints in currently valid TEI P5, improves the compatibility of records with other library formats and enables name authority and geographical authority records to be linked with the records.

We hoped we will be better. The life of czech teacher in the second half of 19th century and the first third of 20th century
Měřička, Matěj ; Pokorná, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Štaif, Jiří (referee)
Because of the new Education Act (Hasner's reform), the second half of the nineteenth century was a very important time for education. I introduce a primary school teacher living at that time, his way to 'success' and whether the image, which surrounded him, corresponded to the reality. Using the Bourdieu's theory of capital, I investigate the individual aspects of the life of Vincenc Paulus (1840-1913), the school director in Chrast. He was the educator of the public, an amateur historian and archivist, an organizer of an ethnographic exhibition, a founder of a local museum, an active official of teachers' association Budeč chrudimská, and a member of municipal committee. Hence, it seems that he met the contemporary ideas about a publicly, and especially culturally active teacher and educator; who carries out all the work selflessly and enthusiastically, thinking only of the welfare of teachers, his pupils, local citizens, the municipality, the nation, the State and the Church. Convinced of the importance of his mission, he withstands any "slights" with patience and with belief in the future awards; and pays attention to avoid any unnecessary conflicts in order to protect his most important work - the education. Although, his behaviour may seem as conform, it was rather a "strategy", which, in the...
Elizabeth Alexandra Clary-Aldringen mirrored in her correspondence
Měřička, Matěj ; Pokorná, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Velek, Luboš (referee)
In my work I try to describe everyday life of aristocracy in the middle of the 19th century, especially within the years 1848 and 1849 in the case of princess Alžběta Alexandra Clary-Aldringen, the Austrian diplomat, general and statesman Karel Ludvík Ficquelmont's daughter. I mainly focus on Alžběta's perception of revolutionary events of these two years and there is important to emphasize that she had lived in the diplomatic environment for a long time and was privy to political events. I also depict her everyday life, her duties and ways of entertainment and relations among members of her family. In 1848 she already had three children and been married to Edmund Clary-Aldringen, the owner of Teplice demesne and keeper of the well-known North Bohemian spa. I also take activities of these family members into account, mainly Edmund's, whose traveller records directed my work to the topic of travelling in this breakthrough period of transport. I mainly has drawn upon hitherto unpublished correspondence between Alžběta Alexandra and her husband Edmund, but I also used snatches of correspondence of the diplomat O'Sullivan, staying at the Emperor's court and her cousin Adelet Suade, living in the Northern Italy sent to Alžběta. The important part of this work is even an edition of translated sources into Czech.
