This thesis deals with the design and the implementation of two software libraries (often referred as modules in the following text). The modules are parts of the distributed control system CoSMic, which is meant to control a special hardware platform for paper fiber characterization. The first of the two modules is HapticFiber - module to provide an interface between the control system and a haptic input device. The second one is ViCo - module to create a software envelop to hold a user defined image processing algorithm. This module must be ready to fulfill certain time restrictions, that is why it needs to be run on a real-time operating system.
