Sudetoněmecké dny a jejich reflexe v českém a německém tisku (1990 - 1997)
Hůlková, Marie ; Míšková, Alena (vedoucí práce) ; Pokorný, Jiří (oponent)
The purpose of the thesis was to introduce the Sudeten German problematic, such as the history of Sudeten German in Czech Kingdom, Czechoslovakia and lately in the Czech republic. The focus of the Sudeten German history discussed in the thesis is on the expulsion of this national group from Czechoslovakia to Germany in 1945- 1946. There this specific national group built several Sudeten-German Organizations to represent the ethnical group, with the purpose to help Sudeten Germans to start new life in Germany and if possible, return back to Czechoslovakia. The most known organization is the so-called Sudetendeutsche Landsmannschaft. The main part of the thesis analyzes three biggest Czech and German newspapers and their view of a traditional meeting of Sudeten Germans, called Sudetengerman Days. The study sought to answer the research question: is there a difference between the Czech and German media, in which way are they different and in which way do they influence the public opinion?
