Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) and reverse phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) were used for separation of diastereomers of phosphinic pseudopeptides. The migration order in CZE with their elution order in RP-HPLC was compared.

Phosphinic pseudopeptides of general structure N-Ac-Val-Ala.psi.(PO.sub.2./sub.-CH.sub.2./sub.)Leu-Xaa-NH.sub.2./sub., where Xaa represents one of 20 proteinogenic amino acid residues were studied. Separation of diastereomers of some peptides was achieved in acid electrolyte.
