The aim of the bachelor theses is to provide complete overview of contemporary legislation, directives and methodical manuals which regulate the implementation of records management. The next part is focused on regulations prescribing form of records management in an environment of municipalities with extended scope. One of the sections of the theses will also be practical part focused on analysis of established records management of the municipal office of Sušice and also making or actualization basic methodical manuals and directives according to requirements of contemporary legislation. Grey Literature and National Archives

National Archives selects the archival records from a various range of creators – from central agencies of the state administration and research institutions to individuals. All types of grey literature are present in the archives – research reports, travel reports, originally secret prints, digital journals, maps and studies etc. Internet and intranet websites are specific example. The paper on examples shows handling with the grey literature, which is not distinguished from other (official) production in the archival practice. The paper also introduces the National Archival Portal and its options for description and submission of the individual data files designated for long term preservation.

When we hear the term records management, many of us envisage official everyday correspondence. Those who work with records realise they are involved in their management from their very creation, through processing, to storage, i.e., records management throughout their lifecycle. However, this relates to a very broad group of standard records that don't require different forms of handling. Yet, there are records that are subject to a special handling regime, either because they contain classified information or information provided in international relations that is sensitive or specific to their content in some way. Handling these records requires a regime that ensures the information contained therein is maximally protected. Establishing a special handling regime for such records presents specific demands in several areas, not only administration itself, but also in terms of personnel, their physical security or transmission via communication and information systems. Obligations of municipalities in the records management and archiving

This bachelor work focuses on a role of municipalities as an originator of records management and archiving activities and their basic duties and responsibilities in this field. The main aim of this work is not only to bring a general description of duties stipulated by applicable legislation, but also document and study one specific information obligation in practice. Introductory chapters are devoted to a role of municipalities in the system of public administration, generally characterizing their duties, responsibilities and activities regarding records management and archiving in the Czech legal system. A breif description of records management and archiving history on the territory of the Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia) is included, as well as description of present legislation regulating these issues. Following chapters summarize responsibilities and duties of municipalities in the field of records management and archiving, as they are stipulated in Act No. 499/2004 Coll., appended by Ministerial Decree No. 259/2012 Coll.
