Halamová, Adéla ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Melicharová, Hana (referee)
Title: Effects of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation on the upper limb function of people with C4-C5 spinal cord injury The main objective: The aim of the work was to find out what effect the use of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation method will have on the function, muscle volume and ranges of movements of the upper limb in people who are affected by a spinal cord lesion in the C4 and C5 region. Furthermore, the work dealt with the subjective feeling of the patients, whether the upper extremity improved after the therapy and if it was possible to involve it more in ADL activities. Methods: 5 probands took part in the study - all men with an average age of 41 years. A total of 3 measurements were performed for the study participants - approx. 2 months before the start of the intervention, before the start of the therapy and after the end. Values such as the volume of the arm muscles in contraction, the range of motion of abduction in the shoulder joint and flexion in the elbow joint were recorded. Another measured subject was the forearm endurance test. Participants also filled out the SCIM form before and after graduation. Probands practiced the method of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation of the 1st diagonal in addition to their regular therapy. They were also instructed...
Distant therapy significant after Facial nerve paralysis
Tupikina, Uliana ; Grünerová Lippertová, Marcela (advisor) ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (referee)
Rehabilitation of facial nerve paresis is both a time-consuming and physically demanding process, which also requires a lot of patience and motivation to achieve favorable results. This bachelor's thesis The importance of distance therapy after facial nerve paresis deals with the issue of facial nerve palsy and its treatment options. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to test the newly developed virtual Mirror therapy program for immediate side effects. The aim of the theoretical part was to summarize knowledge regarding etiopathogenesis, diagnosis and therapy of facial nerve paresis. For the practical part, the newly created virtual Mirror therapy program for paresis of the facial nerve was used. A pilot study of the newly developed Facial Reeducation program was conducted in a home environment in 10 healthy probands and in a patient with facial nerve palsy to test the software for immediate side effects. Probands (n=10) had the opportunity to try the therapeutic concept in the first part of the practical part in the form of beta testing lasting 30 minutes. I then verified the results in the second part in the form of a case report on a patient with facial nerve paresis who completed a 6-week therapy at home. The obtained data are evaluated in the results of the bachelor thesis. The discussion...
The survey of home care therapist's feedback on Vojta reflex locomotion method in children
Dvořáková, Kristýna ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (referee)
Vojta's reflex locomotion method is one of the most frequently used physiotherapy methods for children with movement disorders, which causes restriction of their movement, that most often leads to crying, which can have negative effect on the feelings of their parents (referred to as home care therapists in this thesis), who practice this method several times a day with their children. Goals: The goal of this work is to gain awarness of the opinion of home care therapists on Vojta's reflex locomotion method and to find out the influence of this method on the home care therapist's feelings, what level of instruction do home care therapists have, how children express themselves during therapy and whether these areas affect each other or the overall evaluation of Vojta's reflex locomotion method. Methods: It is an anonymous questionnaire survey, which was answered by 54 respondents. Only 50 respondents met the entry criteria. The quistions in the survey can be divided into six categories - information about the child, the home care therapist and Vojta's reflex locomotion method, Vojta's reflex locomotion method and social life of the home care therapist, Vojta's reflex locomotion method and SARS- CoV-2, the relationship between the home care therapist and physiotherapist and overall evaluation of...
The effect of Stabilization and mobilization system on the postural stability of patients with spinal cord lesions
Sleptsov, Yan ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Laštůvková, Petra (referee)
Title: The effect of stabilization and mobilization system on the postural stability of patients with spinal cord lesions The main objective: The main objective of this document is to find out what effect on stability of the trunk in people with spinal cord lesions the exercise according to SM system by MUDr. Smíšek has. Another goal was to use a questionnaire to find out how self-sufficiency has been improved in people diagnosed with this disorder. Methods: There were four people in this therapy - three males and one female in age from 24 to 50. They were divided into two groups of two. In the first group were people with quadriparesis and in the second with paraparesis. There was an initial examination at the beginning of the therapy and exit examination at the end. The whole therapy took three months. We tested the stability of the trunk during stretching arms forward, sideways and upward and we measured how long the patient would last in these positions. We also used a questionnaire to determine the effect of the therapy on the quality of life of the probands. Results: According to the results we can see that regular exercise for three months improves stability of the trunk. Endurance time has increased, especially in stretching arms forward. All hypotheses have been confirmed and the goal of...
Screening of pelvic floor musles function in physiotherapist
Čaňová, Jana ; Palaščáková Špringrová, Ingrid (advisor) ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (referee)
The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the muscular strenght and endurance of the pelvic floor muscles using Rehaspring concept in a physiotherapists who graduated a certified course dealing with the evaluation of pelvic floor muscle functions per vaginam. We evaluate the strength and endurance of the pelvic floor muscles in the a standing posture. Methods: This study was conducted on female physiotherapeutists who participated in the certified course "Physiotherapy in pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence" led by PhDr. Ingrid Palaščáková Špringrová, PhD. The only entry criterion was a university degree in physiotherapy. 54 probands were examined. The average age of the whole group was 35.8704 ± 8.066. In total, there were 21 nulliparous participants, 11 participants with one child, 15 participants with two children and 7 participants with 3 or more children. Data were obtained from anamnestic data, ICIQ-SF questionnaire and per vaginam examination using the PERF- SMR scale. Microsoft Excel and R-project software were used for statistical processing. Results: With the signifikance level of 0,05 we found that the average strenght of pelvic floor muscles in participants was 3,593±1,055. We assumed that a one third of the participants will have pelvic floor muscle strenght of 3....
The comparison of the influence of physiotherapeutical facilitation techniques and virtual reality on the function of arm of patients with multiple sclerosis
Švábová, Eliška ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Zvelebilová, Pavlína (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to compare the influence of two different therapeutical approaches to disorders of important functions of the arm of patients with Multiple sclerosis. It is said that 75% of Multiple sclerosis patients show lower unilateral or bilateral ability to use arms. The thesis deals with the impact of therapeutical intervention on fine and gross motor functions, skilfulness and the intensity of squeeze of hand. The achieved results were assessed with the help of clinical tests, focused on these functional aspects carried out before and after the series of therapy. Patients were divided into two groups. One group of patients went through proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation using natural motion of a healthy human being and movements, a human being does, as a matter of daily routine. The second group of patients were stimulated via virtual reality. The assumption that the stimulation with the help of virtual reality would have a bigger effect on patients was not confirmed. On the contrary, the research has shown that the stimulation using elements of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation appeared to have a better impact, especially on the gross motor functions. It would be necessary to verify the results on a much higher number of patients as this is a pilot...
