Psychological context of career education and career counselling in adolescence

The diploma thesis deals with the psychological context of career counselling and education in adolescence. Today, only a minimal amount of research interest in the Czech Republic is devoted to career counselling and education, while in several developed countries of the world it is an important social science field. The aim of the diploma thesis is to provide recommendations for career education at secondary schools and to design intervention programs for career counselling for a group of secondary school students. The research questions seek to answer what variables play a role in high school career decision-making, what high school students expect from career guidance and education in schools, and the benefits of sharing a career decision-making process among peers. The qualitative research was chosen to answer the given research questions. Data were collected by the focus group method. The research project involved 29 students from three Prague grammar schools and one secondary vocational school. Psychological aspects of witness testimony of children: Specifics of influencing the testimony

This bachelor thesis deals with psychological aspects of witness testimony of children. The aim is to clarify the psychological aspects influencing the false report of a child witness and to describe the context in which it occurs. The literary review part of the bachelor thesis deals with unintentional mistakes, which cause false report, such as limited cognitive abilities of the child, suggestibility and social influences. Furthermore, the thesis deals with deliberate lies of children in the context of witness testimony and all their aspects. The work specifies false allegations of abuse or neglect of children in the context of parental disputes. In these cases, the children might be instructed by the parents to false report but might also unintentionally make mistakes in their statements. This issue is relevant because of its increasing incidence and also because it can seriously disrupt family relationships and mental health of the children. Violence on YouTube in the context of the classic discussion about violence in mass media

This Bachelor thesis deals with violence on YouTube in the context of the classic discussion about violence in mass media. The aim of the work is to map out the influence of violent content in traditional and new mass media and then to analyse the occurrence and context of violent content of the most viewed videos on Czech YouTube. The theoretical part deals with the impact of watching violence in the mass media, with a significant part focused on studies about violence in television and the playing violent video games. It also introduces YouTube and its content, youtubers subculture and violence on YouTube. To get answers to the target questions, a quantitative method of content analysis was selected. Altogether 244 most viewed videos by 23 Czech youtubers were analysed. The main finding is that violent content appears in every fifth most viewed video of the most influential Czech youtubers. Most of these videos appear in let's play genre. Violent content of videos appears in the context of humour, rewards, without punishment, unrealistic characters, and as the only solution to the plot.
