Synthesis of selectively labelled lupane triterpenoids with cytotoxic activity
Vlk, Martin
Synthesis of selectively labelled compound, with coincidence with suitable analytical methods, result an unique information about structure, stereochemistry and maechanism of action. Labelled compounds play important role in the modern medicine as radiopharmaceuticals and they assist in study of interaction biologicaly active compounds in the life science and contribute to explanation of their mechanism of action a metabolic pathways. Derivatives of betulinic acid and betulin are studying for their significant cytotoxic and virostatic activity. For tests of metabolic processus and icorporation of the isotopes to the tissues culture and their detection, have been synthetise labelled compounds with significant cytotoxicity. The primary screenig already have been made in cooperation with LEM FN in Olomouc. The substrate for labelling have been selected and they have had an interesting cytotoxicity in several cancer line. Some of the of the compounds have been labelled with isotopes 2H, 13C, 15N and for incorporation study by 3H and 14C.
Pharmaceuticals in the Environment - Phytoextraction Study
Kozielová, Kateřina ; Smrček, Stanislav (advisor) ; Vlk, Martin (referee)
The thesis studied the possibility of using phytoextraction as an alternative method for degradation of drug residues from the environment. Studied material - fluoxetine is one of the widely used antidepressant, whose consumption is extremely increasing. In relation, the danger of fluoxetine and its metabolites penetrating in the surface waters increases and aquatic and terrestrial organisms can be influenced. Sterile plant cultivations of maize (Zea mays) and pea (Pisum sativum) were cultivated on media containing fluoxetine (ca 15 mg/l), and cultivations were sampled every 24 hours for a period of one week. The decrease of concentration of fluoxetine in media was monitored by the reverse-phase HPLC/UV at 226 nm. The decrease of concentration was about 10 - 20 % per day in cultivations of pea and maximally 10 % per day in cultivations of maize. The ability of the plants to extract fluoxetine was a mean of 0,03 mg per 1 g fresh weight maize and 0,01 mg per 1 g fresh weight for pea.
Coaching the football coach in the game
Vlk, Martin ; Buzek, Mario (advisor) ; Malý, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Coaching of the football coach in the game Objectives: The main goal of this thesis was to explore how players perceive their coach during the length of a season, and his/her strengths and weaknesses. Another objective was to compare the results of male and female squads in the selected areas. Because the players' individual preferences and expectations can vary, the study aims to compare differences between players who evaluated their season as successful, and players who did not have a successful season. At the end the results were fed back to the players to evaluate whether the CBAS system can be used as a form of feedback, and whether the coach can use this tool to work collectively with the team, as well with individuals according to their specific needs. Methods: A structured questionnaire was used as the research method as well as individual interviews with players during their season. The main part of this research, identifying 12 assessing categories of a coach, was obtained by using a structured questionnaire. Interviews with individual players were conducted to clarify opinions of these players towards the evaluated coach. Results: After the interpretation of the results it was found that the differences between male and female players are apparent in area General encouragement....
