Intensive care unit hospitalized man needs

This bachelor's thesis deals with people's needs. It explains the term need, their behaviour when the needs are endangered, and it emphasises people's needs in particular age categories. Particular needs of patients in the intensive care unit are analysed. The need of feeling safe is stressed. A standardized quality interview on the topic of feeling safe and monitoring the patient during the interview are used as research method. The sample consists of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Gerontological and Metabolic Clinic and patients hospitalized in the coronal unit of the First Internal Clinic of the University Hospital in Hradec Králové.
Eating habits of children

My bachelor work deals with the problems of children obesity. I mention the definition of obesity, BMI, children obesity consequences, food pyramid, drinking habits and movement activity of children in the theoretical part. Further I analyse psychological aspects of children obesity, the personality of an obese child and behaviour disorders of obeze children. In the empirical part I describe the process of doing my research. At the same time I compare the answers of children from primary school and secondary school. I examined the children from primary school using narrative analysis while with the children from secondary school I led a half structured conversation. All in all 36 children from primary school and 11 children from secondary school took part in my research. I deal with questions of popularity of meals, regularity of eating and also how children spend their leisure time. The end of my work is devoted to the evaluation of it.

This work is focused on the manifestations of the illness and feelings of the women who are suffering from this disorder. The research part of the thesis is focused on the means the women use for fighting with this illness, how they deal with it and what helps them to manage the manifestations of the illness.

The extent of awareness of pubescents and adolescents before a planned operation The theoretical part of this work deals mainly with the mental preparation of adolescent patients before a planned operating surgery (operation). I used two kinds of anonymous non-standardize questionnaires for the research, one of them was used for collecting of data from nurses and the other was used for collecting data from adolescent patients. The research was carried out from November 2005 to March 2006. It surveyed the extent of contentment of adolescent patients and nurses with the information provided at selected workplaces before a planned operation. The results of the research show rather high contentment of nurses and adolescent patients with the information provided before a planned operating surgery (operation) at selected workplaces and the independence of contentment on the age, sex and earlier experience of adolescents with a planned operation.
The knowledge of preschool children's parents on the first aid in life-threatening conditions

88 The bachelor's thesis deals with the first aid knowledge of parents of preschool children with life-threatening conditions. The theoretical part introduces the concept of first aid, pre-school age and defines its anatomical, physiological and psychomotor differences associated with the development of life-threatening conditions in children at this age. It focuses on the symptoms, course and general first aid in life-threatening conditions and selected the most frequent accident and nonaccident states occurring in this age group. The point of the thesis is the empirical part, which is compiled on the basis of quantitative research survey compiled by the metod of questionary survey. Research sample consists of nonspecialists, parents of preschool children from Hradec Kralove region. The aim of the research survey is to explore the knowledge of parents of preschool children on first aid, their interest in the first aid and willingness in this issue to further training.
Importance of play specialist in care of child patients

The objektive of presented Bachelor Nurce Study was to analyse an importace of play specialists postition and to identify thein role at children departement during hospital admission. This work described differences that might be typice for each childhood period and potential play options. Additive objektive of this work was to identify a broad spektrum of childhood Leeds and to recognize potential risk factors for some averse consequences progress during admission. An empiric part of this research was based on an quantitative analysis of medical orderly attitude to positions of play specialists. A study group of investigated subjects (i.e. medical orderly) was resulted from medical orderly using inclusion criteria taken from 2 czech hospitals: Faculty Hospital Prague and Faculty Hospital Hradec Králové.

Parent's awareness of results of children's obesity

Key words: childhood obesity, awareness, after-effects, prevention The Bachelor work deals with a problem of childhood obesity. It describes its prevalence, causes, treatment, and prevention. The main focus is put on its health and mental after -effects, which start in the early childhood. The base of the work is formed by questionnaires investigating parents` awareness of problems of children's obesity. At the same time it compares knowledge and attitude of respondents in two groups of parents divided according to the place of their residence. The first group presents villages with less than 5 000 inhabitants and the second presents towns with more than 50 000 inhabitants. The research is done at parents of children of preschool age with the help employees of kindergartens.
Diabetes Mellitus type I. in childhood: quality of life study

The thesis is devoted to the diabetes mellitus type I child patients' quality of life. The first theoretical part deals with the quality of child's life as such. The influence of a chronic disease on a quality of life is discussed in this part. In a chronic disease, of which diabetes is an excellent example, a social support is of essential importance. The second theoretical part depicts the nature of diabetes mellitus type I, its treatment and special regime of patient's daily life. The practical part of the thesis explores the quality of life of diabetic children using a Czech version of formerly English questionnaire. A survey of "Benefit of the disease from the child's point of view" has also been made.

It outlines causes, classification, symptoms, diagnostics, treatment, prevention, education of children with asthma and their quality of life. The qualitative assessment is the key issue of the work. The object of the research is represented by the children with asthma. The aim of the research is to describe the influence of asthma on the quality of life in children.
