Maticové rozklady v teorii konstitutivních vztahů pro spojité prostředí
Vejvoda, Martin ; Průša, Vít (advisor) ; Kružík, Martin (referee)
We study the application of the QR decomposition in the theory of Green elastic solids with emphasis on transversely isotropic materials such as fiber-reinforced materials. We provide a methodology, how to use the QR decomposition to describe materials with gen- eral fiber orientation including curved fibers. We then focus on the so-called conjugate stress / strain basis model, and we show that for isotropic materials the model is equiva- lent to the standard model of Green elastic solid. We also provide a methodology, how to describe transversely isotropic materials using the QR decomposition. Next, we consider the popular standard reinforcing material model with spatially-varying fiber directions and fiber stiffnesses, and we perform numerical experiments in various geometries. To our best knowledge, our implementation is the first implementation of numerical solvers for QR based models with spatially-varying fiber directions. Finally, we compare the results for the conjugate stress / strain model with the results for the standard model of Green elasticity and linear elasticity. 1
Solution of Poiseuille and plane Couette flow associated with the dynamic boundary conditions
Vejvoda, Martin ; Málek, Josef (advisor) ; Kaplický, Petr (referee)
In the presented work we study the effect of dynamic boundary conditions on Couette and Poisseuille flows that represent two types of flow between two parallel impervious plates. In the firts part, the Navier-Stokes equations are considered describing flows of an incompressible Newtonian fluid, and dynamic boundary conditions in general three- dimensional setting. Then we look at how our problem reduces in the simplified geome- trical setting. In the second part, we study several selected problems, some of them are supported by numerical simulations. 1
Media Activities of People with Disabilty: Anthropological view
Vejvoda, Martin ; Beseda, Jan (advisor) ; Pinc, Zdeněk (referee)
This diploma thesis in the field of media anthropology observes the reception and production of media messages from the viewpoint of people who move with the assistance of electrical or mechanical wheelchair. One of the main concepts discussed is the identity ambivalence or else the discrepancy between social and individual aspect of the disabled people's identity. Disabled people perceive themselves as fully-fledged members of society. However, they must often face the opposite attitude on the part of the majority. This is apparent also in the mass media which depict disabled people according to the members of this category in a stereotypical way. The media image of disabled people has according to them mainly two forms: on one hand, they are depicted as dependent persons; on the other hand, they are applauded for achievements they themselves see as trivial. It is possible to grasp the production of media stereotypes with respect to the concept of the journalistic field developed by Pierre Bourdieu. It features hurriedness, dependence on the market, plebiscite and in consequence symbolic violence. From this viewpoint the commercial media strive to satisfy everyone. Hence journalists select themes which occupy space where something else should be told. The disabled people's organizations are aware of this...
Construction of identity in the media dedicated to the physically challenged people
Vejvoda, Martin ; Reifová, Irena (advisor) ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (referee)
Diploma thesis "Construction of identity in the media dedicated to the physically challenged people" asks the question, whether it is possible to trace certain group-specific, intellectually elaborate world view in the czech magazines dedicated to the physically challenged people. The aim is to find out, whether these periodicals offer a certain form of group ideology to the reader and what are its main characteristics. We handle this problem with the aid of the concept of group ideology by the theorist Teun A. van Dijk and his method of ideological discourse analysis.
