The Effectiveness of Harmreduction Programmes in a Night Entertainment Environment in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis answers the research question: To what extent are Harm reduction programs effective in the nightlife environment in the Czech Republic? It deals with Harm reduction programs in the night entertainment environment, mapping their history in the Czech Republic, presenting the reasons and principles of their operation and the organizations that are providing or have provided this service in the past. It defines the research space in which the thesis moves by presenting the dance scene, the target group and the most commonly used addictive substances in this environment. It also presents the ways in which this type of service is currently provided and what interventions it offers. The theoretical part of the thesis also presents a comparison with European countries with more progressive drug policies. The practical part presents a case study of the PARTYHARMreduction programme provided by Progressive o.p.s. The examination of this service serves to portray how Harmreduction services operate in this setting. It was conducted through a semi-structured interview with the programme manager, as well as unstructured interviews with programme staff and participant observation during the delivery of the service.
Mapping and metodological management of physical complications of injecting drug users

BACKGROUND: Drug abuse is a social problem with psychosocial and physical complications. The lifestyle of injection drug users (IUD) increases the risk of infectious as well as of non-infectious diseases. The workers of low-threshold programmes are often the first ones to encounter the physical complications of injection drug users, and the workers are accordingly often the ones who take the initiative in dealing with those complications. Mapping the possible solutions of injection drug users' complications by the workers of low-threshold programmes would respond to the needs for methodological approach widely available to the workers of low-threshold programmes. AIMS: The present thesis aims to describe the possible solutions to physical complications of injection drug users through mapping the solutions in the practice of the low-threshold programmes workers for drug users in Prague. SAMPLE: All the seven low-threshold programmes facilities based in Prague were appealed to participate on the research. The incidence and context of alcohol use of persons after spinal cord injury

The topic of this thesis is use of alcohol in people after spinal cord injury, who form a specific group of people with disabilities. Objectives of the research work The objective of this thesis is to describe the incidence and rate of alcohol use in people after spinal cord injury and find any specifics of alcohol use for this target group. As well as describe motives and reasons for alcohol use, specifics of individual diagnoses, find and define health problems related to alcohol use in people after spinal cord injury. Last but not least, find out whether in this specific group individuals with symptoms of harmful alcohol use (alcohol abuse) or addiction to alcohol appear. Sample file Participants of research (sample file) in this thesis are people after spinal cord injury who are members of the civic association CZEPA. The main objective of this association is to defend the rights and interests of people after spinal cord injury and strives for their full integration into society. Alcohol addicts in abstinence-oriented treatment and controlled drinking

(thesis): Backgrounds: The Czech Republic is at the top of the world regarding alcohol consumption. Alcohol is in the Czech Republic considered legal addictive substance which is commonly available. In the Czech population aged 15-64 years a lot of people consume alcohol in a risk way, only small part, however, gets into the system of treatment. Since 2005 the number of institutionally treated men and women has been gradually decreasing, although the number of alcohol users regularly increases. Objectives: The main goal of this research was to map extend of dependency of patients involved in abstinent oriented treatment. In specially selected clinics, this research was focusing on their behaviour and habitual practice while consuming alcohol and sorting out differences between men and women. It also pays attention to experience of these dependent patients with abstinence controlled drinking and their opinions on the whole situation after they finish their treatment. Methods: There was a questionnaire research conducted in a period from January through March of 2014 involving patients in PN Dobřany, PN Bohnice, PL Červený Dvůr and PL Lnáře. Drug users and their potential in the labor market

The employment issue of drug users in the Czech Republic is still in addiction to current research topics. Partly describe the situation in the Czech Republic as the study "Analysis of the needs of treated drug users in terms of their employability" (Miovský, 2006), or documents "Comparative analysis" and "Getting and keeping a job." Support in entering the labor market ", which arose in the context of the international project" Prague - Vienna, issue of employment and work integration of people at risk of drug addiction "(Ambrož, 2012). Institutional analysis of Harm reduction services in the Slovak Republic

Objective: The main objective of this study was to analyze the basic characteristics of Harm Reduction services (types, availability and scope of programs), customer analysis offered interventions, funding and status of HR services within the system of care for drug users. Background: Harm reduction (HR) pattern is contained within the drug policy of the European Union and is also one of the components of the National Drug Strategy of the Slovak Republic. Even though there is no comprehensive material which analysis HR services available in Slovakia Research file: The research file consisted providers outreach programs, low treshold contact centers and providers of substitution treatment. The study invited all providers of HR services, Centers for drug treatment and psychiatric clinic specializing in the field of drug addiction. The sample interviewed either by e-mail or phone finally constituted 4 HR organizations, 6 Centers for drug treatment and 15 outpatient clinics specializing in drug addiction. After several calls completed, questionnaire was able to obtain data from seven HR programs (provided with four HR organizations), two centers for the treatment of drug addiction and one clinic specializing in drug addiction. Effect of methanol affair on patterns of alcohol use in the Czech Republic: online survey

In the fall of 2012 took place in the Czech Republic, the methanol case - were poisoned and subsequently to the death of many people. According Zakharov (2013, oral communication) is currently the actual number of victims as 58, with the death of the last of methanol poisoning occurred in early December 2013. Methanol was poisoned dozens of people, from those who survived methanol poisoning has many of them probably lifelong consequences - especially disturbances and disorders of the central nervous system. The main objective of this thesis is to describe what has or has Methanol cause effects on patterns of alcohol and behavior related to alcohol use among target groups and to compare any differences in terms of socio-demographic characteristics, the awareness about the issue of methanol and patterns of use (including use of a harmful dependence). For the realization of this investigation was chosen quantitative research. The theoretical part focuses on alcohol (pharmacodynamics, kinetics, effects of alcohol on the human body or patterns of use). I mention the alcohol addiction and treatment options.
