Singular points of algebraic varieties
Vančura, Jiří ; Příhoda, Pavel (advisor) ; Šťovíček, Jan (referee)
This thesis is an introduction to exploring singularities of algebraic varieties. In the first chapter, we state basic definitions and theorems necessary for exploring singularities. Firstly, we define algebraic varieties and their corresponding ideals and explain the term of Krull dimension. We also focus on the local properties of varieties. In the second chapter, we begin by examining the term of singularity in detail and introducing methods for searching for singularities. We prove two theorems about the shape and the dimension of singularities. In the second part, we prove theorems about the zero divisors, which enable us to define Cohen-Macaulay and Gorenstein rings. We use them to roughly classify singularities of algebraic varieties.
Using online tools to assigns and assess the work of secondary school pupils in mathematics
Vančura, Jiří ; Robová, Jarmila (advisor)
Title: Using online tools to assigns and assess the work of secondary school pupils in mathematics Author: Jiří Vančura Department: Department of Mathematics Education Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Jarmila Robová, CSc., Department of Mathematics Education Abstract: Despite the long-term trend of technology implementation in mathematics education, there is not much research that would empirically and long-term monitor the impact of technology on pupils' knowledge. The presented three studies examine the potential benefits of using Khan Academy as a tool for assigning and assessing homework in mathematics at upper secondary schools. The studies deal with three groups of research questions. What is the attitude of pupils towards the Khan Academy implementation, and what benefit do they see in the online practice? Can pupils transfer acquired knowledge from Khan Academy to the school context? In addition to procedural knowledge, does Khan Academy develop a deeper understanding of the underlying concepts? At the time of the research, the author was the mathematics teacher of some of the participating pupils. Based on the results of these studies, the consequences and recommendations for teaching mathematics at upper secondary schools using online platforms are discussed at the end of the thesis. Keywords: Khan Academy,...

Vážené klony
Vančura, Jiří ; Barto, Libor (advisor) ; Příhoda, Pavel (referee)
The well know constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) can be generalized to a class of optimization problems - VCSP. In 2012, D. A. Cohen, M. C. Cooper, P. Creed, P. G. Jeavons and S. Živný proved that weighted clones and weighted relational clones play the same role for the VCSP as do clones and relational clones for the CSP. However the structure of weighted clones remains unknown even for two element domain. This thesis presents a more detailed proof of the result mentioned above and then it investigates the structure of weighted clones. For Boolean domain, we present a complete classification of weighted clones over all seven minimal clones. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Business Valuation of Zálesí a.s. hotels unit
Vavrys, Jan ; Drozen, František (advisor) ; Vančura, Jiří (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to value the Hotels business unit of the Zálesí a.s. company by calculating its market value. The final valuation statement is supposed to serve to the management of the company for the purposes of investment management decision making and budgeting and for the evaluation of the buying bids. The thesis is divided into two parts. First one introduces the valuation methods, its pros and cons and criterions used for the selection of the method. The DCF method is introduced more in details. Second part of the thesis starts with the company introduction, continues with the strategic analysis, financial analysis and a financial plan compilation based on the results of the analysis. Costs of capital are determined as a weighted average cost of capital, where CAPM is used for the cost of equity calculation. At the end the valuation itself is performed and the final valuation statement added.
Integrated transportation system of the Liberec region
Hanák, Ivan ; Zelený, Lubomír (advisor) ; Vančura, Jiří (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the Integrated transportation system of the Liberec region, analyze transportation service and to point out to the opportunities and plans for further development. The first part refers to actual situation in public transportation and theoretical basis for integrated transportation systems. The second part describes the fare collection systems, especially their electronic form. In the third part there is analysis of the Integrated transportation system of the Liberec region, its parts and development opportunities.
Intercompany comparison
Vančura, Jiří ; Boukal, Petr (advisor) ; Bittnerová, Gabriela (referee)
The thesis deals with financial analysis and comparison of the biggest dairy producers in the Czech republic between years 2001 and 2007. The comparison is done every year separately when using both single-criteria and multi-criteria methods. The aim of the comparison is to provide the management of MADETA, a.s. with relevant data for its decision-making. The comparison includes these companies: Danone, Mlékárna Hlinsko, Mlékárna Kunín, Moravia Lacto a Olma, a.s..
