Employees returning to work from parental leave

This thesis deals with possibilities the employees have when they are returning to work from maternity or parental leave. The theoretical part of the thesis analyzes different flexible working arrangements in the czech labour market and current legislation for maternity and parental leave. The practical part is focused on a comparison among selected european countries in flexible working arrangements and formal childcare for children under three years of age and from three years to the minimum compulsory school age. Also discussed is the current situation in two surveyed companies. The main objective is to confirm or disprove the stated hypotheses and create suggestions which have a positive affect on an early return from maternity and parental leave for companies and government.
The Harmonization of the Professional and Personal Lives of Women in Management

This thesis deals with the balancing of family and professional lives for women in high management positions. The main objective is to determine whether, from the perspective of managers themselves, it is possible to achieve a balance and to see how they have managed to combine these two areas of life. The research section covers a cross section of current knowledge on this topic including reserach on motivation, barriers in the workplace and challeneges for women in accessing high level management positions. The empirical part is based on information provided by women in high positions. For this purpose, qualitative research was conducted. Information was obtained partly through in-depth interviews and partly in the survey.
