Sign Language Translation in State Administration in Germany: Barrier Free Web Accessibility

The aim of this thesis is to describe Web accessibility in state administration in the Federal Republic of Germany in relation to the socio-demographic group of deaf sign language users who did not have the opportunity to gain proper knowledge of a written form of the German language. The demand of the Deaf to information in an accessible form as based on legal documents is presented in relation to the theory of translation. How translating from written texts into sign language works in practice shows an example from two sign language translation providers in Germany. In conclusion, the visually accessible information on the Web might have an impact on the quality of Deaf people's lives. The identity of hard of hearing people

The bachelor thesis deals with identity of hard of hearing people. This thesis is based on the relevant scientific literature and is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The contents of the theoretical part are the identity and characteristics and clasification of elements affecting the identity of a person in general. The thesis focuses on identity formation of hard of hearing people. The practical part uses investigation to verify elements affecting hard of hearing people identity listed in the theoretical part. In the conclusion, the author summarizes the findings from both the investigation and the relevant scientific literature and formulates reccomendations, which suggest way to minimize negative elements in the process of identity forming and support healthy identity development of a hard of hearing individual.

The Comparison of education system of sign language interpreters in the Czech Republic and in the Netherland

This bachelor thesis focuses on the educational training and background of sign language interpreters in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The theoretical part deals with the development of interpreting, presenting the specifics of the political and social events affecting the education of sign language interpreters in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. It continues by examining the education requirements of sign language interpreters and how these are recognized in the legislation of those states. It aims to inform the reader about the current system of basic education for sign language interpreters, on how to support emerging sign language interpreters, and finally describes the system of lifelong learning sign language interpreters in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The research part, aims to establish the level of satisfaction of sign language interpreters with their current system of education. Based on the data from the survey. It proposed possible solution to how to support the education for sign language interpreters in the Czech Republic.

Occupational burnout in sign language interpreting

In its introductory part, the thesis acquaints the reader with the basic views on the burnout syndrome, with the history of its research, with its causes, symptoms and development. Subsequently, the more endangered professions and the specific factors that affect workers in the given areas are described. It also introduces the basic possibilities of prevention. Mainly, it focuses on the burnout syndrome in the field of social work with an emphasis on the profession of interpreting Czech sign language and its specifics. There are also several diagnostic methods mentioned, along with their possible uses, that are then practically demonstrated in the part of the thesis devoted to previous selected foreign research, that dealt with the issue of the burnout syndrome among workers in this area, their methodology was also the basis for the research part of this bachelor's thesis. The practical part uses its own questionnaire in conjunction with a standardized research tool of the burnout syndrome Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) to determine the current situation among Czech sign language interpreters. The findings are quite surprising and the results of the research show that the situation among interpreters is, in fact, far more positive than previously expected. English-Czech Sign Language Interpreting at Czech Universities

This bachelor thesis deals with interpretation between the English language and Czech Sign Language in a university environment. The theoretical basis of the thesis defines the necessary terminology and the working languages of the interpreter, and it describes interpreting into an active foreign language and interpreting between two foreign languages, the possibilities of professional preparation and professional employability of interpreters of the English language and Czech Sign Language, as well as online interpreting and its use in university lectures. The research part focuses on a specific interpreting situation, i.e. an online lecture of foreign linguist of sign languages interpreted from the English language to Czech Sign Language. The aim of the research part was to describe a situation in interpreting between the English language and Czech Sign Language in a university environment using structured interviews with open questions conducted with someone who orders an interpretation, a foreign lecturer and interpreters and visitors of a lecture - some of whom were deaf and some of whom were hearing. The communication of deaf through text messages

The bachelor thesis is of a theoretical-analytical nature and deals with the communication of the deaf through text messages. The theoretical part sets out the notions of a language and communication, namely those of language communication, communicative functions and the factors influencing the style of communicative means. In the theoretical part, the main features of the communication through short text messages are defined with the focus on the language features typical for Czech language. The findings on the written Czech of the Czech deaf are summarised. The theoretical part, consequently, serves as a basis for the analytical part of the thesis that focuses on an analysis of the short text messages of the deaf that are either of a private, or official character. The collected text messages are examined from three main viewpoints: the functions they carry, the stylistics they apply and the extend, if any, to which they reflect characteristic features of text messages. The aim of the analytical part is to look for, and possibly, find tendencies in the written Czech of the deaf, i.e. in their short text messages. The end of the bachelor work is then devoted to the interpretation of the findings that gives rise to several issues for future possible discussion.

The Importance of the Fundraiser in a Non-profit Organization

The main theme of the bachelor work is the importance of the fundraiser in a non-profit organization. It defines the term fundraising, its principles, forms and methods, the work of a fundraiser in a non-profit organization.The work characterizes nonprofit organizations, their legal status and field of activity. There are also information about activities, which improve economy and financial situation of these organizations. In the practical part of my work I have analyzed the way of financing a non-profit organization Junak- Czech scout, Centre Pod Kleti Holubov z.s. I am comparing in this part the way of fundraiser work on the local and state platform. The facts here available are drawn from the public web pages of this organization and also from the account keeping documents of its local center. At the conclusion of my work I am assessing the effectiveness of fund raising plan and its strategy and also describing the way of negotiation with donors. I am noticing the need of a fund raising team creation and also rules of fundraising including necessary cooperation between the center of organization and its local branches.
