INTERPRETATION AND SOUND RENDITION OF THE RECORDINGS OF SMETANA´S QUARTET IN E MINOR

The goal of this study is an interpretative and sound analysis of the recordings of Smetana's quartet in E minor, "From My Life". For this purpose recordings of The Bohemian Quartet, The Smetana Quartet, The Lindsay String Quartet, The Skampa Quartet and The Pavel Haas Quartet were selected. By a method of analysis, we determined character of the components involved in the impression of the composition and then we compared the individual outputs. The results provide a comprehensive view on these issues.

The main objective of my thesis is finding the relationship between music recording and interpretation. I am trying to prove the recording process had important role in music evolution. Definition and position of record in past and present becomes a main subject of my interest. I am comparing differences between perception of recording and live concert. I am going to find out how much was the artist constrained to adapt his music expression to the needs of recording. The Interpretative analysis of Schubert's song cycle " Winter Journey"

This bachelor's thesis deals at first with interpretative matters of Franz Schubert's song cycle Winter Journey. Its main goal is to compare different interpretations of baritones: Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Matthias Goerne and Gerhard Hüsch. It also contains a chapter on Franz Schubert and his works. It deals with genre of chamber music songs before Schubert and then with the influence of Schubert's songs on works of his followers. Its focus is to analyze of each song of Winter Journey including a critical perspective on the musical text and its relationship with the original. It is intened also about the specifics of recording vocal music.

This bachelors thesis analyzes and compares recordings of Janaceks´s piano works in terms of interpretation and musical sound. Recordings are presendet by leading czech pianovirtuosos of the late 20th centruy, and contemporary records of the new generation of pianists.
Recording of the pipe organ from the music director's point of view

The thesis shows the knowledge, that the music director needs to know to record the pipe organ, from the facts of the organ building, through the history of music and sound aesthetics, to practical knowledge of recording and postproduction. First chapter talks about the history of the pipe organ building and history of the aesthetics of it's sound. Throughout the music history, the construction of the organ differs. Also the idea of it's perfect sound does. The second chapter describes the pipe organ as a medium of a musical interpretation and the history of it's possibilities. The third chapter talks about the recording itself and the post-production. The dramaturgy of a CD record or a concert is described in the fourth chapter. The last chapter analyses three different records of a same piece from the musical point of view.

This work is about recording of piano from recording director`s point of view. It includes the basic information about history of the instrument and about evolition of piano repertoire as well. The next point is the instrumental space, where piano could be find. One of the chapters is devoted to positioning of microphones. The last part is about jazz and about piano value for this genre.
Comparing of work music director´s of clasical and contemporary popular music

This thesis deals with the role of the music director in the process of producing music recordings. I thing above all about the work procedures during music recording of two different areas in contemporary music world, it means classical music and contemporary popular music and conditions and habits of music diretor´s work which results from them. My aim isn´t a strict limitation between these two areas which according to my opinion aren´t strictly given but I think about and follow some distinct differences in approach to making recording and I think of the role of the music director as itself.
