Copyright in the aspects of television broadcasting

This thesis deals with copyright issue in the field of television broadcasting. Regarding the topic extend, the thesis does not examine all the issues down to the least detail. Neither it mentions sociological aspects of the legal matter, nor elaborates findings from the field of media communication and television production. The submitted text tries in nine chapters to present a summarising insight into copyright from the view of television production as per legal status on June 30th 2011. First, the analysis of the valid right is carried out by means of interpretation, grammar- language, word meaning (semantic), systematic, theological, logical and historical methods. The findings gained are then processed by means of a comparative method. However, the text also takes into consideration former copyright regulations as well as relevant provisions of the international copyright and EU law. A great attention is paid to doctrinal interpretations and to judicature in the limited extend as well.

The dissertation "History of newspaper publishing in Trutnov County between the second half of 19th century until 1938" is focused on the development of written journalism in Trutnov region since 1948 till the Munich Conference (29th - 30/9/1938). The thesis also reflects the period's wider theoretic and socio-historic context. Due to demographic characteristics of the region the dissertation also considers the issue of Czech-German coexistence and the changes in the mutual relationship among these nations in the border area. The dissertation also includes picture references taken from chosen newspapers. The reason for this is to give the reader a notion of the period regional newspapers.

The protection of personal rights under civil law in the contexts of media

Předmětem diplomové práce je téma ochrany osobnosti fyzické osoby podle občanského práva ve vztahu k médiím. Pojmem "médium", popř. "hromadný sdělovací prostředek" se obvykle rozumí noviny, časopisy, rozhlas a televize, patří sem však také knihy, film a veškeré druhy masově šířených obrazových, zvukových a obrazově-zvukových záznamů, jakož i ostatní vysokonákladové tiskoviny a jiná, zejména elektronická média. Počátky žurnalistiky jako svébytné činnosti spadají zhruba do konce patnáctého století, kdy dochází k postupnému rozvoji měst a sjednocování roztříštěných oblastí ve větší státní celky, kdy se začínají uskutečňovat rozhodující zámořské objevy a kdy se vzrůstající vzdělaností a dělbou práce roste zájem o denní informace - zpráva se tak stává obchodovatelným artiklem. Rozvoj žurnalistiky souvisí rovněž s myšlenkovými proudy z počátku novověku (renesance, humanismus a reformace) a s uvědoměním si lidské individuality.1 Byly to však teprve moderní informační technologie, které zásadním způsobem proměnily tvář médií a tím i ovlivnily jejich působení na příjemce sdělení a na společnost jako takovou. Hromadné sdělovací prostředky už nejsou dávno považovány za pouhého zprostředkovatele zpráv, ale za jakousi sílu, která je schopna ovlivnit obsah lidského myšlení, ať už na základě pouhé selekce informací, nebo...
