Variable compression ratio for spark-ignition four-cylinder engine
Rada, Jan ; Fridrichová, Kateřina (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
The automotive industry faces pressure to increase engine efficiency and reduce emissions. One promising solution is the implementation of variable compression ratio technology, which allows for the dynamic adjustment of the engine's compression ratio according to operating conditions, thereby improving efficiency, saving fuel, and reducing emissions. This thesis focuses on the analysis and design of a four-cylinder spark-ignition engine with variable compression ratio technology. The work compares the baseline engine with the modified engine in terms of installation space and weight, incorporating theoretical foundations of variable compression ratio and practical aspects of its implementation. The introductory part includes a literature review on variable compression ratio engines, followed by the conceptual design of the engine and an analysis of the crank mechanism. The main part of the thesis is the design, which aims to maximize the use of components from the original engine. The resulting kinematic and force analyses support the potential of this technology for developing more efficient engines.
Design of a planetary gearbox of an RC model produced by the 3D printing
Rada, Jan ; Rekem, Jakub (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of a planetary gearbox produced by 3D printing. The first part is focused on research in the field of current technologies and 3D printing materials. The production process for FDM technology and the theory of planetary gears are described here. The second part is focused on the design of the gearbox to meet the input parameters so it could be produced by 3D printing. The design process from the calculation through modelling to the actual printing of the gearbox is described here.
Niccolo Paganini: 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, op. 1, the Work and the Interpretation
Rada, Jan ; Tomášek, Jiří (advisor) ; Kubátová, Gabriela (referee)
The diploma thesis investigates 24 Caprices for Solo Violin op. 1 by Nicolo Paganini in great detail. It also includes a brief biography of the famous performer and composer but mainly focuses on 24 caprices op. 1. The author of this work addresses circumstances of their creation, their main features and methodology problems. He further looks into interpretation options and compares recordings of Ruggiero Ricci, Ivan Kawaciuk, Itzhak Perlman and Shlomo Mintz. The aim of the work is to offer violinists who study any of the capricies recommendation regarding technic and interpretation problems.
