Monitoring and warnings of hydrological drought in the world
Klečková, Hana ; Šobr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pecha, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyzes the definition of hydrological drought and the definition of general drought. The introduction defines the main characteristics of meteorological, hydrological, agronomic and socio-economic droughts and their differences. Furthermore, it points out the causes and impacts of drought in different regions of the world from an economic, environmental and social view. The thesis also summarizes the recent hydrological drought in Czechia, which were the significant dry years 2015 and 2018. Additionaly, the thesis deals with drought in selected regions in the world and describes the most affected areas with drought and water scarcity. Large part is devoted to monitoring and warning systems of hydrological drought in the Czech Republic and in the world. Finally, the thesis explaines the differences between each hydrological model including HBV, VIC, LISFLOOD, Bilan, RAPID and mHM and describes different indexes like TSDI, DSCI, ODIB or CDI index. Keywords: hydrological drought, monitoring of drought, warning services
Evaluation of precipitation forecast from the point of view of hydrological forecasting in small catchments
Pecha, Martin ; Daňhelka, Jan (advisor) ; Čekal, Radek (referee)
In this work we have evaluated NWP ALADIN quantitative precipitation forecast (QPF) for selected headwater areas of the Czech part of the Elbe river basin. Work describes geographical characteristics of 9 small study basins, and gives an overview of important synoptic situations and theory of NWP ALADIN. Different applied statistical methods (f.e. double mass curve, CDF, frequency diagram, discrimination and reliability) are introduced. Results have proved over-forecasting of days with precipitations especially those of light precipitation up to 1 mm and partly also up to 5 mm. On the other hand basins that are not exposed to prevailing western flows show under-forecasting of precipitation higher than 8 mm. Evaluation also proved the significant change in forecasting performance due to change in model resolution in 2005. The change was more significant in basins exposed to west and in basins in middle altitudes and spatially limited highlands. Simple quantile transformation resulted in improvement of forecast of total long term volume of precipitation in most of the study basins. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Testate succession
Pecha, Martin ; Pohl, Tomáš (advisor) ; Elischer, David (referee)
The law of succession is a branch of civil law that deals with devolution of property rights and duties of a decedent to his heirs. The new Civil Code that came into force in 2014 brought considerable changes in the field of the law of succession. Finally, the legal regulation pays proper attention to the law of succession and testate succession. After more than sixty years, there were restored legal institutions such as Clauses of lesser importance in a testament (condition, determination of time or a mandate), inheritance contract, privileged wills, legacy, vulgar substitution or fideicommissum. Not only because of these institutions can a testator finally organize freely and according to his own will his property situation mortis causa. The purpose of my diploma thesis is to analyze the testate succession according to the Czech Civil code that became effective on the 1st of January 2014. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is split into five chapters that deal with individual prerequisites of succession. The prerequisites of succession are as follows: the death of a testator, the existence of a decedent's estate, the capacity of an heir to inherit, the legal ground of succession and the acceptance/non-refusal of inheritance. Meeting all prerequisites of succession is crucial to...
