The Use of Games in English Language Teaching.

My diploma thesis focuses on the use of language games in English lessons. The theoretical part concerns the importace of language games and the sequence in which they could be included in school lessons based on psychological and pedagogical knowledge. It tries to show their value in language teaching, involves a concise game division seen from different points of view and also offers methodological practice which demonstrates game integration in English lessons. Several plans of English lessons were presented in the practical part to show language games inclusion in the classwork. In the final reflection the thesis provides additional instruction and advice for futher game application.
Architekture and Czechoslovak Airlines (ČSA). Interiors of ČSA Offices and Prague Ruzyně International Airport in the Sixties

In the 1960s Czechoslovak Airlines (ČSA) set up offices in the countries to which they operated regular flights. ČSA branches abroad were to match high standards of other airlines premises. In those years travelling by air was still regarded a luxury. ČSA had to take these facts into consideration. The same group of architects, designers and artists who participated in the design of ČSA branch offices took also part in the outline of the new Prague Ruzyně international airport checking-in hall. This thesis aims to depict some former, now vanished, ČSA premises. In the 1990s ČSA closed down some offices abroad and the Prague Ruzyně international airport checking- in hall (now Terminal 1) was completely reconstructed. Press and other articles, archive documents, monographies as well as information provided directly by architects, designers and artists or their relatives were used in order to describe some previous ČSA publicly accessible premises and works of art that they included. On the basis of ascertained facts, it is obvious that in the 1960s ČSA offices abroad were not only to promote the good company reputation but further fulfilled a political role to create a positive picture of the Czechoslovak Republic. Media Education in Kindergarten

Today's modern society use mass media on a daily basis as a modern way of communication. Lot of us can't imagine everyday life without them. They are surrendering us with non-stop flow of various informations. Everyday we spent a lot of time with media and sometimes we even don't realize, what risks are menacing us and others. Media are capable of manipulating with people without even noticing it by common population. They are influencing their opinions, behavior and thinking. Kids and teen-agers belong to the most threatened groups, because they can be easily manipulated. This group is not capable of realizing of influence of media on their behavior. Experts are pointing out on the influence, which they have on behavior and also on evolution process of personality. Since pre-school age kids are confronted with mass media frequently. They are not developmentally enough adult, so they cannot settle with traps, which are lurking on them, without help. That's why there is necessity to teach kids how to work properly with media and use informations delivered by them rationally. Importance of medial enlightenment consists in the fact, that when kids are exposed to the influence of media, which can be so great, that it can even cause mental disorder. Besides behavior, statements, opinions and world views are being influenced as well. That's why prevention is very important and this task could be fulfilled by medial education. When it will reach mental disorder, it is necessary to bring a team of experts and immediately start to work with affected children. There is special branch of pedagogy called etopedy, which is concerned with these problems. It's not engaged only in training and educating of children with mental disorders, but it's also looking for the reason, that causes this disorder. Its primary goal is to incorporate kid into society again and make sure, that it doesn't break social standards anymore. Etopedy doesn't work with child on it's own, but use help from other scientific branches like psychology, special pedagogy, patopsychology and many others.
Education of graduates from secondary schools with regard to their future teaching practice

This thesis deals with issues of preparation of graduates from secondary schools who want to pursue a teaching career. It is based on materials related to the preparation of future teachers, describes this issue and clarifies the most common problems. The core of the thesis analyses the ways that are used to ensure preparation of future teachers by particular non-pedagogical universities in the Czech Republic. This study shows and evaluates the contemporary situation and compares the accessibility of required education with the past.
