The thesis consists of two main parts- theoretical-review and empirical. It also describes dynamical alterations in human needs hierarchy during aging, which are inherently related to changes in old age. Preparation of Patient for Colonoscopy

This bachelor thesis deals with the ways of preparation of the patient for colonoscopy. Right premedication, effective communiation between medical personnel and the patient and applied medication are some of the key factors which can significantly influence the result of examination. Quantitative research enquiry by means of interrogatory method the aim of which is to find out the extent of patient's awareness about colonoscopy examination is the focal point of the empirical part of the thesis. Another aim of this work was to evaluate whether the high-quality professional communication of medical personnel with a patient and given 68 premedication have positive influence on better tolerance of the examination and on patient's satisfaction. An information leaflet was written on the basis of established facts to help the patiens manage the colonoscopy. The studied sample of patiens was made up of outpatients as well as inpatients who underwent colonoscopy examination at the endoscopy ward of the Municipal hospital, joint-stock company in Dvůr Králové nad Labem.
Senior age, dying and death from view of medical nurse and nun

Key words : Old age, dying , death, paliative care, pain, DNR, Advanced Directives, euthanasia, dignified death, nun, religion The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze the difference in how dying and death are understood by atheistic nurses and as opposed to nuns who work as nurses at hospitals, The thesis also investigates the term "dignified death", and the possibilities for patients to influence how their lives end. This topic is one that has yet to be fully investigated. A qualitative observational study was carried out by way of conversation or dialogue with six nurses from the Faculty Hospital in Hradeck Kralove, three of whom were atheistic and three of whom were nuns of St.Vincent's order. The result of research is that religious faith makes nuns more empathic to dying patiens and thein family, while atheistic nurses care for dying patiens with professionalism and sort of psychological distace - to protect themselves.

The aim of this bachelor work is to find out the difference in the satisfaction of needs amongst in-house senior patients and external, or living at home seniors. The theory part explains the term of needs, it divides them into lower and higher needs. It analyses physical indications of old age and the relationship between medical and social old age. It mentions hospitalism and syndrome of being immobilised. The practical part presents quantitavie research using questionnaires methods. The analysed sample was made up of seniors in "Oddělení následné péče" in Frýdlant and seniors living in "Domov U Spasitele" also in Frýdlant. All findings are present using graphs and charts. The summary and recommendation for nursing practis can be found in the discussion part.
