The description of the work of assistant relates to the Street-level Bureaucracy theory which main concepts are described in the theoretical part of this thesis. Furthermore, in its theoretical part the thesis presents the Theory of Motivation playing substantial role in continuous work of assistants in the field. By analyzing of semi-structured interviews performed with the former assistants the form of concepts of Street-level Bureaucracy theory in the environment of work of assistants of children from socially vulnerable families is examined. The main findings lie in the facts that assistants work independently, they perform the work until their motivation is present and then leaves the environment. The system of support and obstacles in the work of assistants depends mainly on human factor. It was further found that this area of volunteering reaches the management level.
