Alkaloids of Papaver rhoeas L. (Papaveraceae) and their biological activity related to Alzheimerʼs disease VI.
Ludvik, Matěj ; Chlebek, Jakub (advisor) ; Šafratová, Marcela (referee)
Ludvik M., Papaver rhoeas L. (Papaveraceae) alkaloids and their activity related to Alzheimer disease VI., diploma thesis, Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové 2023, number of pages 69. This diploma thesis was focused on alkaloids from combined fractions 13-15 of diethylether extract from Papaver rhoeas L. The methods used for extraction of the alcaloids include flash chromatography and preparative thin-layer chromatography. The structures of isolated compounds were determined by using mass spectrometric and spectrophotometric methods (GC-MS, NMR and optical rotation). Alkaloids were identified as galanthamine and N,N-dimethyltryptamine. Subsequently, N,N-dimethyltryptamine was tested for its biological activity against human cholinesterases, specifically acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase. Galanthamine was not tested on ability to inhibit cholinesterase, since the compound has been already tested on this activity at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany. N,N-dimethyltryptamine showed mild inhibitory activity against butyrylcholinesterase (IC50 = 44,14 ± 1,76) and no activity against acetylcholinesterase (IC50 = >100). Despite its mild activity towards butyrylcholinesterase, N,N-dimethyltryptamine can't be used in therapy of Alzheimer's disease,...

The press office of the supervisory service and its activities in selected case studies in the years 1938-1945
Ludvík, Matěj ; Cebe, Jan (advisor) ; Suk, Pavel (referee)
In the period of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia between years 1939 - 1945 media, as well as the whole society, were controlled by the government of Nazi Germany. The control also included censorship of the press that operated for the benefit of the occupying power. Its essential component, Central Press Supervisory Service, had to approve every issue before it released to the press. But it also published daily instructions for the newsrooms, where two censors operated together with working journalists and their editors in chief. Our work uses four case studies to show how censor's directives influenced the final form of the selected newspapers.

Polish and Hungarian events of 1956 in the Czech press
Ludvík, Matěj ; Kaleta, Petr (advisor) ; Jakubec, Pavol (referee)
Originally, the revolution against the Communist regime in Poznan dated 1956 was merely an economic protest with a regional character. This activity was nevertheless unique by its extent and subsequently triggered a wave of economic and political changes firstly in the homeland with successive eruption of armed fights for democracy in all over Hungary. However both manifestations of the resistance against the regime were suppressed with a bloodshed, they became an important part of the European history within the 2nd half of the 20th Century. Our bachelor's work is mainly aimed on the fact, how the tendentiously oriented Czech Press then informed about these events.
