Optimization of Parameters Used in the Application of Elimination Voltammetry with Linear Scan

Elimination Voltammetry with Linear Scan (EVLS) is a well-established mathematical method that aids in understanding an analyzed electrochemical system. In almost 30 years since its derivation, it has become a “black-box” technique that is applied automatically (in most cases due to its incorporation into a voltammetric software) without thinking about its fundamentals. However, the choice of optimum parameters under which DC voltammetric data (from which elimination curves are calculated) is crucial. This contribution deals with revealing the optimum ratio of applied scan rates and their absolute values (i.e., times of recording) in dependence on the character of the investigated system (diffusion-controlled process, adsorption-controlled process, etc.).

Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Financial Performance: The Mediating Role of Innovation Ability

Firstly, this paper empirically analyzes the relationship between corporate social responsibility and corporate financial performance without considering innovation ability by using dynamic panel threshold model. The empirical results show that there is a nonlinear relationship between corporate social responsibility and corporate financial performance; Corporate social responsibility has a double threshold effect on corporate financial performance, and the positive impact of corporate social responsibility on corporate financial performance decreases marginally. Furthermore, this paper explores the intermediary or regulatory role that innovation ability may play between the two. The empirical results show that this paper measures the innovation ability of enterprises by innovation input, innovation output and innovation efficiency, but only the first two play a partial intermediary role and positive adjustment role in the relationship between corporate social responsibility and financial performance. Elimination voltammetry with linear scan (EVLS) represents an almost traditional\nmathematical method that helps to obtain additional and detailed information about the recorded\nelectrochemical signals and therefore, to better understand the analyzed systems. Although it\nhas been substantially developed and expanded during its existence of more than a quarter of a\ncentury and has found many areas of application, like any other mathematical and experimental\nmethod, it exhibits several advantages and disadvantages. Internet censorship in the People's Republic of China

This master thesis discusses the sensitive topic of internet censorship in People's Republic of China (PRC). The first part provides a detailed overview on current situation of internet censorship in PRC. Some of the important terms related to censorship are also explained here. The theoretical part acquaints reader with technical aspects of censorship, as well as with the legal policies of Chinese government. Furthermore, this part also presents an analysis of keywords blocked by the search engines in China. Next part of this thesis offers a discussion on future development of censorship in both China and the rest of the world. The author proposes two potential scenarios and argues whether present state of censorship is feasible for upcoming years or not.

Stock Price Bubbles

Economic bubbles are playing an increasingly significant role in the current global economy. We believe these bubbles are to a certain extent dominating the real economy, and, therefore, research based on this specific economic phenomenon is becoming increasingly popular and important. The focus of this master's thesis is based upon analysis of stock price bubbles. This thesis contains author analyzed historical cases representative of stock price bubbles; summarizations of their traditional features; common factors causing their formation; and reasons leading to their bursting. Solutions to the dilemma of stock price bubbles are discussed in depth, and emphasis is placed upon clearly deciphering different theoretical approaches regarding this phenomenon-not only from the efficient market hypothesis viewpoint but also from the perspective of behavioral finance. The research contains testing and measuring methodologies of stock price bubbles, and the author's view concerning them is strongly supported by the results within the empirical data-testing chapter. Upon reading, one can expect to achieve a basic overview of this forefront science.

Analysis of intermediary services in the Czech and Chinese markets

V současnosti jsou mezi Čínou a ČR dobré ekonomické vztahy a existuje mezi těmito státy mnoho obchodních příležitostí. Aby bylo možné tyto příležitosti plně využít, hrají velmi důležitou roli zprostředkovatelské firmy, to jsou firmy, které poskytují tlumočnické, překladatelské a poradenské služby a přitom pomáhají svým zákazníkům s hledáním a kontaktováním obchodních partnerů na trzích Číny a ČR. Ve své práci se budu snažit podat ucelený obraz o odvětví zprostředkovatelských služeb na čínském a českém trhu.
