Causes of the rise of the United Kingdom Independence Party
Kult, Jakub ; Brunclík, Miloš (advisor) ; Říchová, Blanka (referee)
The theme of this thesis is strongly connected to its aim which is to distinguish and describe the causes of the rise of the United Kingdom Independence Party. The introduction provides us with the brief history of the party and its election results. The next step considers the classification of the UKIP which leads us to consideration that party does not match perfectly to any party group. Still the theoretical frame of populist radical right parties seems to be the most suitable for examining UKIP. According to assumptions of this theory it was plausible to determine potential causes of the rise of the UKIP: process of modernization, economic dimension, Euroscpeticism, crisis and populism, ethnic issue and immigration, authoritarian intentions, voting system, evolution of party competition and internal supply of UKIP. Final analytical part of this thesis is designated to evaluate each cause. The findings of this paper correspond to original hypotheses. Thesis comes to conclusion that the most important voters' motives to vote UKIP are their Eurosceptic, populist and anti-immigration attitudes. This clearly corresponds to party's own policies and presentation. While process of modernization and development in party competition created suitable environment for the rise of the party. The voting system has...
Negotiation analysis of the third economic adjustment program for Greece: Greek strategy explained
Kult, Jakub ; Parízek, Michal (advisor) ; Plechanovová, Běla (referee)
Thesis title reveals a lot about its intentions and objectives. Its research target is to explain the behavior and strategy of Greece in negotiations prior to agreement on the third economic adjustment program. Thesis asks what the key characteristic of the Greek bargaining strategy was. Negotiation analysis approach is employed as the theoretical/methodological framework. It leads us to examination of following factors. Actors' interests and preferences have to be understood and distinguished from positions. Next, alternatives to negotiated agreement, creating and claiming value techniques, and actions to change the game constitute the remaining basis of negotiation analysis. Moreover, the element of bargaining power is added as a relevant concept to research bargaining strategy. That leads us also to commitment tactic, use of threats, and commitment through domestic audiences and audience costs. Last but not least, two-level games factor is considered as well. Hypothesis and further explanation of analytical technique is followed by three chapters that provide historical context of the negotiations. Then finally empirical analysis is done based on theoretical framework mentioned above. My research shows mixed results. Greek strategy was significantly inconsistent and therefore I cannot consider...

Comparison of mechanical aspects of different treatment methods of human finger tendon contractures
Kult, Jaroslav ; Jírová, Jitka
The article reports on an analysis of conservative treatment methods of finger flexor contractures (splinting and external fixation). The treatment simulation is based on numerical Finite Element Method. The stress states of bones and soft tissues are evaluated and compared for different values of the flexion angle.
Computational model of Swanson's PIP joint implant
Kult, Jaroslav ; Jíra, Josef
The Swanson's proximal interphalangeal joint (PIP) soft skeletal implant was introduced already in the 60's of the 20th century by Dr. Alfred B. Swanson. Its modifications are nowadays produced around the world.
Analysis of Finger Flexion Contractures Treatment
Kult, Jaroslav ; Jírová, Jitka
The flexion contractures of finger tendons are a serioustherapeutic problem in orthopedics and reconstructive surgeryof the hand. They cause limitation of the range of finger motionand thus difficulties in patient's daily life.
Stress analysis of human pelvic bone after THR cup implantation
Jiroušek, Ondřej ; Jíra, J. ; Jírová, Jitka ; Kult, Jaroslav
Study of the possible mechanical reasons for the acetabularcup migration which is one of the main causes for total hipreplacement (THR) instability and leads to an early re-operation.
Using Ansys FEM System for Solution of Nonlinear Problemsin Biomechanics
Jiroušek, Ondřej ; Jíra, J. ; Jírová, Jitka ; Kult, J.
The contribution reports on problems solved by a Laboratoryof Biomechanics team using numerical FEM system Ansys. The first problem is a complex analysis of Swansons, sprosthesis of interphalangeal joint and its interactionwith phalangeal and metacarpal bone.
