Plagiarism Detection

The Bachelor‘s thesis concentrates on plagiarism detection in written text, mainly final theses in author’s Alma mater. The current situation of automatic plagiarism detection of text in czech language is evaluated and a theoretic analysis directed on classic detection by finding matches in a text with use of external sources, mainly the internet, is made. Project ends with custom concept of automatic plagiarism detection system and with an experiment made on 100 randomly chosen theses from The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication.
Image processing and automatic solving of crosswords

The Master’s thesis is focused on development of Android application which is able to recognize grid and clue text of swedish crossword and find a solution for it in crossword dictionary. The thesis proposes a process of tile segmentation using corner detection, recognizes text using Tesseract OCR and searches for solutions in local database. Developed application is tested on a gallery of photos captured using a mobile phone. The tile segmentation and solution searching provide good results, the rest of the process provides unsatisfactory results thanks to inaccurate OCR output.
Swedish Crossword Segmentation From Smartphone Camera Images

This paper describes the problem of swedish crossword segmentation from images acquired using ordinary smartphone camera. To solve this problem, an image processing and segmentation algorithm is presented. The algorithm is designed as a part of a larger application capable to recognize crossword grid and clues, and solve the crossword using crossword dictionary.
