Comparison of characteristics of pre-impregnated and conventional carbon fibre epoxy laminates
Jones, Phillip ; Juračka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (advisor)
The focus of this thesis is a comparison of pre-impregnated and conventional carbon fibre laminates. The first part focuses on the production process of carbon fibre composites from the process of converting PAN to carbon fibres to the lay-up and curing process of completed parts. The second section includes numerical comparisons of different types of carbon fibre. The data is set up in a fashion to demonstrate the improvements in carbon fibre mechanical properties by comparing outdated carbon fibre to the newest fibre on the market. The included tables aid in the process of choosing the right type of carbon fibre for each specific application.
Stress analysis and modelling of adhesive bonded joints with the use of Finite Element Method
Trubíniová, Karolína ; Horák, Marek (referee) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the analysis of adhesive joints used in the aerospace industry by numerical solution using finite element method. The research section is focused on introduction to the topic of adhesive joints, the advantages and disadvantages they bring and their use in aerospace industry. The shear strength test using analytical approach is also part of this work. The practical part is focused on creation of 2D and 3D models of single lap joint test specimen and the subsequent strength analysis in MSC.Patran and MSC.Nastran. The output of this work consists of linear analysis of 2D and 3D problems, a non-linear analysis of 3D problem and comparison of results obtained by these methods.
Online Dating: Impact of Online Dating Sites on Mate Selection
Mazáková Šetinová, Markéta ; Hamplová, Dana (advisor) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (referee) ; Fafejta, Martin (referee)
Markéta Mazáková Šetinová 13 Feb 2024 Online Dating: The Impact of the Internet on Mate Selection Dating has changed significantly over the last generation, both globally and in the Czech Republic. Perhaps the most significant change has been the influence of the internet and technology on the way people meet. This dissertation explores the evolving landscape of mate selection in the digital age, focusing on the impact of online dating platforms. Drawing on Czech and international research, the study investigates assortative mating patterns, age preferences, cognitive influences, and societal attitudes towards online dating. Employing a mixed-methods approach including data analysis from dating sites, surveys, and qualitative interviews, the research reveals a consistent trend towards assortative mating across various demographics from the first stages of mate selection. Findings suggest that while online dating expands opportunities for meeting potential partners, it also reinforces preferences for similarity and introduces new dynamics in mate selection. The study sheds light on the complexities of modern dating behavior, highlighting the interplay between individual preferences, societal norms, and technological affordances in shaping relationship dynamics.
Wing design of competition aircraft
Jurda, Martin ; Navrátil, Jan (referee) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with wing design of the new competition aircraft for the SAE Aero Design East 2020 competition. Introduction of the thesis is focused on explanation and analysis of the rules taking into account wing design with the following analysis of the scoring equation. Following chapter deals with a research study on the concept of wing and the design of conceptual wing possibilities. Thesis continues with computational chapters containing calculations of the characteristics of designed wing and flight envelope load together with the wing load. The last part is a chapter including structural design of the wing and attachment of the wing to the aircraft.
Bottom integral panel weight optimization of large transport aeroplane according to regulation CS-25
Bohýl, Tomáš ; Katrňák, Tomáš (referee) ; Vlček, Dalibor (advisor)
This master thesis deals with optimalization of stiffened integral wing panel of L-610 aircraft to its fatique life. Analysis has been made using FEM, AFGROW software and PYTHON language.
Wing system design of competition aircraft
Mahdal, Vít ; Hájek, Tomáš (referee) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the wing system design of competition aircraft. The thesis consists of five main parts. The first part is an introduction to the competition – Air Cargo Challenge, and the mission of UAV. The second part details the compilation of flight envelope and loads acting on the aircraft. Part three describes stress analysis of the old fabric method of wing construction. Part four of the thesis gives suggestions of a new wing system design, and its stress analysis. The final part of this bachelor’s thesis describes the advantages and disadvantages of the new system design, and compares them to the old version.
Structural design and stress analysis of ski landing gear for airplane with short take-off and landing
Hostinský, Vladimír ; Vaněk, František (referee) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is a design of a ski landing gear for the STOL Cruiser airplane and strength analysis of its parts with consideration of UL-2 and CS-LSA regulation requirements. First part follows the design process from a concept to detailed design. Decisions taken during the process and reasons behind them are discussed. In second part requirements of regulations for said aircraft’s landing gear are summarized and forces acting on the landing gear are calculated. This calculation is followed by a strength analysis of critical parts. Analysis of composite body of the ski carried out with a use of FEA and optimalization of its composite material layout is presented in a more detailed way.
Conceptual design of an upper wing aircraft using structures parts of the previous type
Koudelka, Jaroslav ; Katrňák, Tomáš (referee) ; Jebáček, Ivo (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design a new high-wing aircraft for the company TL ultralight using the structural elements from another models from their portfolio. The design is created with an emphasis on crew comfort and cabin ergonomics. The first part of the thesis focuses on the description of the basic requirements for the aircraft and its classification in aviation regulations. It also contains a research part of competing types and currently produced type, which the proposed aircraft should replace in the company's portfolio. Then follows the characteristics of the individual parts of the airframe, the specification of the parts, which will be used from another types from portfolio, and parts which will be completely designed. Great emphasis is placed on the layout of the interior and its design and ergonomic. The proposed aircraft then demonstrates theoretical calculations of basic performances and a preliminary mass analysis. In the end, the benefits of the newly designed aircraft are evaluated with respect to the competing types.
Design of ski landing gear for skiplane with short take-off and landing
Hostinský, Vladimír ; Dubnický, Lukáš (referee) ; Katrňák, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is a selection of the most suitable ski landing gear for a use on a given STOL aircraft and its installation on the aircraft according to the law regulations and requirements of the aircraft manufacturer. First part is strictly teoretical and deals with existing design variants of an aircraft skis. More practical second part of this thesis starts with a market research, which creates an overview of existing options of ski landing gears suitable for use on the aircraft. Part continous with a reduction of the options and ends with a choice of the most suitable one. Final part is devoted to the problem of an installation of the landing gear to the given aircraft with consideration of existing law regulations.
