What do parents of preschool children expect from kindergarten

This bachelor's thesis studies the expectations that the parents of preschool children have of kindergartens. Parents often keep these expectations to themselves and rarely voice them. My objective was to identify what parents consider as important, what properties a kindergarten should have, what parents' requirements are of teachers, as well as how teachers themselves perceive the issue. In the theoretical part, I deal with the basic terms such as family, preschool child, kindergarten, and the mutual cooperation of family and school. The second part of the thesis describes a questionnaire survey and interviews. Whilst a large portion of parents are satisfied with their choice of kindergarten, some have made suggestions such as improved communication, a change of diet, or a reduction of rewards in the form of sweets.

Analysis of male sex pheromone of different population of tropic fruit fly Ceratitis capitata (Diptera, Tephritidae)

The Ceratitis capitata is a very important agricultural pest, whose reproduction behaviour is controled by chemical signals. Males initiate mating by creating leks, where they release sexual pheromones to attract females. The main goal of this diploma thesis was to determine the influence of host plants on the composition of male sex-pheromones C. capitata and to compare emanations of wild males with those originating from laboratory population. We studied the chemical composition of volatiles, released by calling males C. capitata from laboratory and two wild populations, using two-dimensional gas chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometric detection (GC×GC-TOFMS), gas chromatography with electroantennographic and flame ionization detection (GC-EAD-FID). All data were statistically analyzed by multivariate data analyses. Significant differences were observed in the quantitative and qualitative composition of the chemical emanations among males from the three populations. The GC-EAD-FID analyses revealed fourteen antenally active compounds with a possible behavioral function. Isomenthone, geraniol, bornyl acetate, geranyl acetone and ethyl octanoate were newly identified antenally active compounds of C. capitata male sex pheromone. Medicine and laboratory techniques development is moving very fast. This raises the question to what extent the available tests and techniques can affect psyche of pregnant women. The bachelor's thesis is focused on awareness of pregnant women regarding screening tests in pregnancy. Furthermore, it deals with areas of life which are most affected by prenatal diagnosis. The thesis compares quality of life between healthy, pregnant women and pregnant women with a genetic load.

Sulphated metabolites of silybin and their interactions with sulphatases

This bachelor thesis solves the question of sulphated metabolites of silybin by their interactions with sulfatases. Silybin is flavonolignan prepared from the seeds of milk thistle (Silybum marianum). Sulfate of silybin (metabolite) has not been isolated from organism so far thus its exact structure has not been determined. In this work synthesis of silybin-7,23-disulfate from natural silybin is presented. Silybin disulfate was isolated and spectrally characterized (NMR, MS). In the next step the kinetics of the reaction pNPS with sulfatase from Helix pomatia was measured: Km = 0.0494 mmol/l a Vmax = 0.0325 mmol/dm3 /min. Conditions for sulfatase reaction from Helix pomatia were selected according to literature. One of the main goal was to determine, whether silybin-7,23-disulfate is a substrate and/or an inhibitor of sulfatase from Helix pomatia. Activity measurements of the sulfatase from Helix pomatia in the presence of various concentrations of silybin-7,23-disulfate enabled us to determine that silybin disulfate at concentration higher than 0.2 mM is a strong inhibitor of the sulfatase tested. When evaluating the performance of PBS INDUSTRY, a.s. the financial statements of the company for the period of 2005 -- 2008 are used. Performance evaluation is done through traditional methods of financial analysis and modern methods of economic added value. The interpretation of analytical results and recommendations was made.

Czech Households -- Their Incomes and Costs of Health

Theoretical part of work contains information on incomes, the reform of health service and different demographic and social-economic factors. The main goal of my work is to recognize the connection between the income of the Czech households and their consumer behaviour in the health service with regard to the chosen demographic and social-economic factors. The practical part contains the data from the Czech Statistical Office from 2000 to 2008. The analysis is carried out by means of different statistical methods (e.g. hypothesis testing). The facts recognized are represented by means of tables, graphs which make up the ground for the economical interpretation of the analysis results.
