The Characteristics of Low-Threshold Clubs by the Salesians Of Don Bosco
Humlová, Markéta ; Ortová, Marie (advisor) ; Kaplánek, Michal (referee)
This thesis focuses on low-threshold services for children and minors run by the Salesians of Don Bosco. It describes the characteristics of such low-threshold clubs and how the aim of Salesians (to evangelize the youth) corresponds with the principles and targets of classic social work. The theoretic part of this thesis contains the general base of work in low-threshold services for children and minors, including the legislative base and the historical context of this work. It also contains the principles of Salesian pedagogy and evangelization of youth and shows some problematic areas of their combination with social work in low-threshold clubs. The practical part of thesis shows the results of fractional research aiming to the confirmation of the theoretical comparison of both models, to find the specifics of Salesian clubs and to possibly discover other unifying or separating elements of both youth work models.
