Project Preparation for Financing from EU Funds

The Bachelor’s thesis approaches the possibilities of project co-financing using the financial resources from EU funds. The introductory chapter deals with the concept of EU regional policy, further there are particular European funds presented and connection to the Czech system of programme documents. The Fundamental, practical part of the thesis concerns with the selection of a suitable operational programme and the processing of materials necessary for the completion of the Grant Application Form. Particular steps that the applicant must accomplish before his application is passed are also mentioned as well as the conditions for the recipient of the grant.

Limits of efficiency and sustainability of the functioning of the municipalities in Czechia - example of ORP Litomyšl and Chrudim

The subject of the research of the master's thesis is the boundary of the effective and sustainable functioning of small municipalities in the Czech Republic, specifically in the ORP (municipalities with extended powers) Litomyšl and Chrudim. In the Czech Republic, the issue of sustainability and efficiency of small municipalities is a long-term problem that still has not been resolved. Civic amenities are also relevant. Due to the low population size of the municipalities, they often do not reach the corresponding standard. The first part of the thesis presents the institutional context of the development of public administration and self- government in the Czech lands, the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia. The second part describes theoretical concepts, indices, measures describing the efficiency of municipal governments. The third part of describes the method of selecting the territory, the description of the data and the composition of the set of indicators, which are developed in the analytical part. The analytical part determines the approximate population size from which the municipality is able to ensure basic standards of services for its citizens and at the same time function sustainably. Trekking as a sustainable practice of recreation in mountain areas: the example of Šumava Mountains

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of trekking as a form of sustainable tourism. The cross-border area of Czech Šumava National Park and Grman Bavarian Forest National Park is the studied area. First the essential terms and concepts are introduced - trekking, sustainable tourism and cross-border area of Šumava Mountains. These theoretical chapters are followed by a description of the research methodology and then the rest of the thesis is already focused on the research itself, the aim of which is to answer these four research question: - Can trekking be considered a sustainable form of tourism? - How has the meaning, conception and coverage changed in the national parks Šumava and Bavarian Forest? - Who are the ones who do trekking? What is their motivation? - How important is trekking in the manageament of the Šumava region? How it is perceived by the actors involved in the administration of this area? The path leads to finding the desired answers mainly through literature searches, interviews with tourists who have completed the Šumava crossing, with the mayors of Šumava municipalities and with a representative of the Šumava National Administration. The role of diets in formation of a sustainable agro-food system: potential of school food

This master thesis deals with the issue of sustainable diets and the potential of the promotion of sustainable principles in public food procurement. The theme is introduced in broader context of environment, public health, historical development, international influences, significant theoretical approaches and fundamental factors affecting current state of diets and nutrition. The aim of the thesis is to specify universal principles of sustainable diets, which were derived from critical review of scientific literature and other relevant texts. The character of this thesis is dominantly theoretical. Discussing the potential of applying the principles of sustainability from the side of public institutions is the main theme of the second part of the study. The research question is related to the possibilities of local organic food consumption in school food system in Czechia. Main results show problematic combination of the requirements for both organic and local food in the context of the volume of school food demand and relatively small local organic production.
