Comparison of investment environment Czech Republic and Ireland

This thesis deals with the characteristics of the investment climate of Ireland and the Czech Republic, in the context of developments over the last few decades mainly assesses the current state. Analysis of the investment environment is complemented by empirical data analysis of FDI inflows into both countries. The theoretical part specifies basic characteristics of foreign direct investment and defines factors of investment attractiveness based on several approaches. The knowledge gained from theoretical and practical part are subsequently evaluated. Comparison of investment environment in the monitored countries allows us to define the characteristics of the investment attractiveness and assess the relative position of Ireland and the Czech Republic due to potential investors.
Socio-economic impacts of the strategic industrial zones on the development of the region

The aim of this thesis is to define socio-economic impacts of the strategic industrial zones on the development of the region. The aim of the thesis was chosen with respect to the statement from literature, that industrial zones stimulate economic activity through making new jobs. In the first part of work are described teoretical fundamentals present by Czech and also foreign authors, who are focused on industrial zones problematics, characteristics of industrial zones in the Czech Republic and localization. In the second part are two case studies of strategic industrial zones Most-Joseph and Ostrava-Mošnov. The component of case studies is analysis of statistics for the period from 2000 to 2012, which results from observation of casual relations between development of zones and their surrounding areas lead to identification of economic and social impacts of strategic industrial zone on the development of the region.
The development of the economic activities in the Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone

This thesis is focused on one of the biggest realized development areas in the Czech republic -- Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone and tries to find a solution of the current unfavourable situation in the zone which is defined by localization of only one investor. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the industrial zones in general and also to the role they play in the economic development of a region. It contains a brief characteristics of the Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone, Zlín region and Kroměříž microregion where the zone is situated. An analysis of a region related the Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone is not omitted from this part of the thesis. In the second part of the thesis the current situation in the Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone is analyzed and the analysis is focused mainly on the topics that create conflicts between the management of the zone and the interest associations. These conflicts belong among the causes of the current minimal filling of the zone by the investors. The last part of the thesis describes and analyses the possible ways how to solve the conflict situation between the management of the zone and the interest associations and thus accomplishes the objective of the thesis. The objective of the thesis is to evaluate the possibilities of solving the current conflict situation related to the Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone.
Transport accessibility as a factor of the level of unenployment in the administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers of the Moravian-Silesian Region

The presented work deals with analysis of relationship of transport accessibility and the level of unemployment in the Moravian-Silesian Region or how different level of unemployment in the various administrative districts of the region, depending on their time accessibility to the regional capital and the capital city of Prague as the most important economic, political and cultural center of the Czech Republic. The quality of transport infrastructure directly influences level of economic development of the region, one of the consequences of underdeveloped transport infrastructure, or limited availability of transport may be unemployment. The work is based on different characteristics of the sub-regional units Moravian-Silesian Region using methods of regression analysis to demonstrate the extent to which affects the accessibility level of unemployment in the area.
Analysis of the impact of aircraft noise on real estates prices

This bachelor thesis deals with the impact of aircraft noise on real estate prices around the Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague. This impact is studied by regression analysis using the hedonic price model, specifically the first degree model . The dataset contains of 204 houses, information about their characteristics come from advertisements on the real estate market, data on noise come from airport noise maps. The results suggest that if the noise exposure increases by one decibel, real estate price drops by 2.91%, a result comparable with similar studies carried out abroad.
Comparison of the investment environment in The Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland

This thesis focuses on the topic of foreign direct investments in the Visegrád Group, members of which are the Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary and Poland. These four countries are involved in strong competition in attracting FDI. The main purpose of this thesis is to review the investment attractiveness of these countries and provide an overview about the available investment incentives. Therefore, the first part of the paper defines the term of "foreign direct investment"including its types. Subsequently the author provides an overview about the most relevant FDI theories and the factors which determine FDI localization. The second part of the thesis analyses the investment environment of each country, for the purpose of which the following factors were taken in consideration: macroeconomic stability, investment incentives available to potential investors, labor market, transportation infrastructure and tax system. Finally, the last part concludes all finding and revises the relevancy of the theories. The methodology of this thesis is based on the traditionally used methods of economic analysis and in particular the methodology of comparison. Expert technique was used in the form of discussions and consultations with investors and investment consultants focusing on FDI in the region.
French and Belgian Investment in Regions of the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis focuses on foreign direct investment (FDI) coming to different regions of the Czech Republic. This investment play a crucial role in socioeconomic development of the country and therefore it is an important part of regional development policies. Thesis concentrates on French and Belgian investors and its aim is to determine the key factors that influence the localization of FDI coming from France and Belgium to regional economies of the Czech Republic. In the first chapter theoretical data concerning this topic is introduced, followed by closer description of development of FDI in the Czech Republic in general. At this point the investment coming from France and Belgium that is supported by the agency CzechInvest is stressed. The final part is dedicated to different regions of the country. Based on analytic, cartographic and statistical methods, localization factors with a great influence on French and Belgian investors when choosing the area to invest in are determined.
