Evaluating the Performance and Kredibility of Czech Pension Funds

This dissertation work focuses on evaluation of the performance and credibility of domestic pension funds. It includes information about pension systems in six selected countries in the world, specifically Chile, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden and Slovakia, and culminates with a proposal for pension reform in the Czech Republic. The evaluation of the performance of pension funds is based on experience with measuring performance in twenty-three countries of the world processed for the OECD and cites original basis materials for proposals for the regulation of pension funds in the Czech Republic. Setting of indicators is preceded by an analysis of measurements of performance by the Association of Pension Funds in the Czech Republic and the Research Institute of Labour and Social Affairs. The most important proposed indicators include the actual result in relation to the participants' funds, which captures the influence of changes in the market values of financial assets, and the indicator of competence covers obligations, reflecting the influence of changes in costs during subsequent periods, which include yet undistributed commission for mediators of pension insurance. For a comparison of benefits and risks, mutual funds denominated in CZK were selected, which were verified as a suitable alternative to long-term saving. The method of evaluation of pension funds itself is based on explanation, evaluation and selection of favourable indicators for determining the rating of domestic pension funds, which clients of pension funds could use as a method for evaluating the credibility and benefits of a specific domestic pension fund for the purpose of securing it in retirement age.

Rating and Importance of Non-financial Factors

The dissertation deals with rating and non-financial factors that form its important part. Rating described in the thesis shall be understood as credit rating, i.e. as an instrument that helps to asses creditworthiness of a company and its future prospects. Typical credit rating is based on an assessment of financial and non-financial factors of a company. Whereas financial factors are widely accepted as inputs of the assessment, the role of non-financial factors remains ambiguous. We have therefore formed a hypothesis that non-financial factors significantly improve the predictive power of rating with the aim to disperse doubts about usefulness of non-financial factors in credit rating assessments.

The specifics of German conception of financial analysis and possibilities of their implementing into Czech methodology

The theme of my dissertation is the specifics of German conception of financial analysis and possibilities of their implementing into Czech methodology. In Czech literature which deals with financial analysis we can encounter references to German sources very rarely. With regard to this I have chosen to explore German literature, to get inspired by German authors and to look for ideas which may help to contribute to common method of financial analysis in the Czech Republic. The assignment of my dissertation comes out from the hypothesis that methods of financial analysis used by German-writing authors incorporate elements that can be implemented in our practice. This dissertation therefore has the goal to develop the study of financial analysis specifics that are typical for German authors with the objective to suggest ideas to improve common methods of Czech external financial analysis. Based on the wide recherché I introduced in the dissertation a spectrum of methodological elements recorded at influential German-writing authors and in the end I suggested those elements that should be incorporated into our methodology. I suggested financial ratio system for analyzing short-term financial solvency that shows prospective ability of company to cover short-term non-interest debts, short-term interest debts and interest. The empirical study presented the advantages of financial ratio system of liquidity ratios based on ideas to be incorporated into methodology of financial analysis inspired by German literature. I managed to specify 16 ideas how to built up (in the Czech Republic) on specific methodology elements that are suggested by German authors. The suggestions of replenishment of common Czech methodology approaches mainly represent a benefit in more significant focusing of external financial analysis on prediction of financial situation in short term period.

Finanční situace podniku Elektroporcelán Louny a. s.

První část této práce se zabývá podrobnou finanční analýzou. Jde o český výrobní podnik Elektroporcelán Louny a. s. Obsahuje zhodnocení účinnosti restrukturalizačních opatření a jeho celkové finanční situace. Zaměřuje se především na oblast rentability, likvidity, zadluženosti a finanční stability. Tématem druhé části práce je problematika podnikových sdružení. Pozornost je věnována příčinám vzniku těchto sdružení, funkci, postavení a významu v rámci národní i světové ekonomiky. Podrobněji se zde pojednává o koncernu SPGroup a. s. Pavla Sehnala a stručně o dalších skupinách. Práce se zmiňuje také o problematice daňové konkurence a hodnotí české podnikatelské prostředí.

Postavení společnosti Pivovary Staropramen a.s. na trhu piva

Diplomová práce se zabývá zhodnocením finančního zdraví společnosti Pivovary Staropramen a.s. pomocí finanční analýzy. V rámci práce je provedena horizonatální a vertikální analýza účetních výkazů, analýza poměrových ukazatelů a pomocí bonitních modelů je určeno finanční zdraví podniku. Práce dále sleduje celkový vývoj trhu piva v ČR a postvení sledované společnosti na daném trhu.Zvláštní kapitolu tvoří popis historie společnosti od jejího založení až do současnosti.

Financial analysis of NAREX Česká Lípa

Základem diplomové práce je finanční analýza akciové společnosti NAREX Česká Lípa za období 2001 až 2004. Hodnocení finančního zdraví firmy na základě horizontální, vertikální a poměrové analýzy, dále komplexní rozbor pomocí bonitního modelu, indexu důvěryhodnosti, Altmanova modelu a ekonomické přidané hodnoty. Práce se také zabývá porovnáním firmy s konkurencí podnikající v oboru a historií zkoumaného podniku.

Kapitola 4 pojednává o koncernu Volkswagen, společnosti Europcar fleet services a.s. jako součásti koncernu VW, výhodami a omezeními vyplívajícími z příslušnosti k nadnárodnímu koncernu. Následuje finanční analýza (procentuální rozbor, poměrové ukazatele, faktorová analýza, analýza cash flow, analýza zdrojů a užití finančních prostředků, bankrotní a bonitní modely) společnosti Europcar fleet services a.s., interpretace výsledků v kontextu okolností

Finanční analýza firmy kótované na burze

Cieľom diplomovej práce je zhodnotiť finančnú situáciu farmaceutickej skupiny Zentiva, N.V. V závere práce sa venujem jednej z možností získania voľného kapitálu na trhu, tzv. IPO a prvej pražskej IPO, ktorú Zentiva uskutočnila v roku 2004. Na základe výpočtov jednotlivých ukazovateľov kapitálového trhu som chcela poukázať na výhodnosť investície voľných peňažných prostriedkov práve do akcií Zentivy.

Finanční analýza podniku vyrábějícího stavební hmoty

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá detailním poznáním a následným zhodnocením finančního zdraví, chování a finanční důvěryhodnosti společnosti ZAPA beton a.s. na základě uplatnění bonitního modelu a dalších doplňkových analýz. Dalším cílem této práce je bližší seznámení se specifiky a historií výroby betonu a se zvláštnostmi konkurenčních podniků v tomto výrobním odvětví.
